Please join us in giving a very warm welcome to Eldtyara, our newest addition to the Blizzard Community team!
Eldtyara has been with Blizzard for many years, so she brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge when it comes to the industry, our games and most importantly you, the players. You’ll see her around from time to time, jumping into topics in her charming and friendly Aussie style. She’s an invaluable part of the Community family, and we think you’ll agree the forums will be a better place with her around :-) So, welcome Eldtyara! Let the games begin ;-) |

His charm is irresistible. Obey the crocolisk. @_@ |

Eep! So how does this thing work then, I just type here and press "submit"? Okay, let's test it.
*ahem* Thank you, one and all, for the welcome. It's an absolute pleasure to be here in the team and also to be posting on the forums. I'm looking forward to interacting with you all. :) As Takralus mentioned, let the games begin - from my avatar you may get the hint that it's definitely my MO. ;) |

[In the throne room, Anduin is watching the Alliance fleet attack the Horde on the huge Mage-Tastic Gizmonitor]
As you can see, my young prince, our enemies have failed. Now witness the firepower of this fully ARMED and OPERATIONAL Eldtyara! [the King hits the Stormwind Communicator Mk. II on his throne] |

More Australians? Is it Wryxian's avatar that attracts them or what?! We need more Aussies to persuade our dear game designers to create us some in-game Kangaroo mounts (gnomes could ride in the pouch!) No no, we don't have any plans for Kangaroo mounts, don't want to raise false expectations. Welcome Eldtyara! |

Why thank you! It makes me happy when I look at it, and I find myself singing "laa laa laa laa" in time to its movements. (To be honest, "laa laa laa laa" is often being sung in my head in general.) |

Now to answer some questions which have come up in this thread. As mentioned in the inital post I have been with Blizzard for a number of years, 7 to be exact, and that time has been spent in our Customer Service department where I have held a number of responsibilities both in frontline support and also more behind the scenes areas.
My move to the Community team actually fits in with my previous experience in the gaming industry and some would say, fits very well with my (apparently) exuberant (ie. loud) personality. My main responsibilities here are overseeing everything related to the World of Warcraft community, fansite interaction and various internal processes. Additionally, I am a Capricorn, cook a mean lasagna and am really looking forward to interacting with you guys on these forums as much as possible. |

We're not game masters, support members reply in the forums that are in the "Support" forum group. :) We're the Community team! ^^ And no, unfortunately, we can't work for Blizzard from our own house, but you are free to propose it though! ;) |

My main responsibilities here are overseeing everything related to the World of Warcraft community, fansite interaction and various internal processes. As some of you raised questions regarding the meaning of the first part - Eldtyara's job is to be the final boss for all them WoW folks in here. A truly powerful one. One most blues are not going to raid for l00t, except for those times when e.g. we need her valuable experience. Or in case we want cake or that mean lasagna she mentioned. Welcome :) |

*munches a cookie*
Thanks for all the additional welcome messages. :) As I said, I will try to post as much as possible here, but as my responsibilities tend to lie more behind the scenes, this may mean my influence is more felt rather than seen. There was a question earlier about fansites which I would like to answer. We work very closely with our fansites and are always looking to strengthen those ties and make our working relationship more successful. This is something I am currently working on. (Okay, let's be honest, I'm mostly working on flailing my arms and trying to get up to speed on everything the team does while maintaining a cool exterior façade.) |
