Welcome Zazkya!

Congrats to Lumatar and Keshayra!
May the green be with you :D |
I wasn't hinting at all at a book or anything like that. I was literally hinting at nothing other than the fact that we'll know more about Warlords as we near the release of the expansion (which is kind of a "D'oh" statement anyways" :P. You want to know if we will see why we're going to Draenor in-game? Yes, you will. That was already explained by the developers at BlizzCon. There's a nice article you can read about it here: http://wow.joystiq.com/2013/11/08/blizzcon-2013-warlords-of-draenor-pre-launch-event/ |
But since then we heard that the plot is to prevent Garrosh building a Dark Portal on the other side to come and attack us... So how exactly does ours become connected to one that doesn't yet exist on past Draenor?! I'm sure it'll all be clear when we get closer to release and more information about the expansion and the storyline is made available. We just need to be patient in the meantime! |
The last information in this regard was shared at BlizzCon, where it was mentioned that in Warlords of Draenor we will use the Dark Portal to travel to Draenor and that we'll be able to go to Outland through the Caverns of Time.

This thread isn't particularly constructive, and has derailed in a myriad of accusations.

Like any good webmasters, we look at World of Warcraft site stats on a regular basis, and we're always evaluating which aspects of the site people find most useful. Over time, we've identified a few areas that players don't really seem to visit but that still require a bit of effort for us to keep updated each time we release a new content update. For most of these, it's pretty obvious why they don't draw a lot of attention-they tend to focus on things that are simply more compelling to look at inside the game, are a "given," or are already well-served and readily available elsewhere, like on fansites.
Early next week we'll be doing some cleanup and removing the following rarely visited, higher-maintenance sections from the World of Warcraft website: Game Guide Guild Profiles Character Profiles Here are just a few fansites that provide a wealth of information on the above topics, as well as a whole lot more! |
Congratulations Intuitia. Have fun on the forums!

Congrats Thornass!

Although some of you have mentioned it already, there're a few updates from the developers that we wanted you to know. This is in early testing and subject to change.
Fel Flame has been slightly reworked. Now it has a 1.5 second cast time, but can be cast while moving. It no longer extends the duration of damage over time effects and has received a small damage buff. The intent is that you'll use it to keep up some damage when you need to move, but you'll want to stick to your standard rotation otherwise. For Affliction specifically, the developers are lowering the bonus damage that Malefic Grasp provides and moving it into Haunt and the DoT effects themselves to compensate. They still want Malefic Grasp to be your primary filler for single target DPS, but this will make it a bit less punishing when you can't afford to channel it (especially in PvP). Haunt will once again be interrupted by movement, in favor of the Fel Flame change. Kil'Jaeden's Cunning and Mannoroth's Fury have had their cooldowns and durations lowered to 60 and 10 seconds, respectively. Mannoroth's Fury now only applies to the core AoE damage spells (Seed of Corruption, Hellfire, Immolation Aura, and Rain of Fire), but increases their damage by 100% while active in addition to the range increase. Rain of Fire is being changed to no longer generate enough Burning Embers to be worth using in a single target rotation (so, Destruction shouldn't feel forced into Mannoroth's Fury). These changes will be available on the PTR with the next build. Please remember that we're very early in the 5.4 development process, and therefore any or all of this may still change before the release of the patch. |
There is no way for the gap to ever be closed as by the time they get the gem - patch 5.4 is out. When Patch 5.4 is released, the legendary quest items from 5.0/5.1 will drop in Throne of Thunders for players that are on that step of the questline. The developers don't see much value in keeping Tier 14 relevant once Tier 16 is available. However, in 5.4, if you decide to run Tier 14 raids for those items, you will see a dramatically increased drop chance. |
Kil'jaeden's Cunning felt too good. Most Affliction Warlocks were taking it. The developers weren't too happy with the snare effect, but not many warlocks were using it when it had a cast time debuff. Changing KJC to a snare effect ended up making the talent too attractive. There's a long PTR cycle ahead of us, and the developers will have plenty of time to adjust it. You can also rest assured that Warlocks will be balanced around it.
It's worth noting that the new Kil'jaeden's Cunning is off the global cooldown and can be cast even if another spell is already being cast at the moment. One recent change the developers have made in the 5.4 PTR is that Haunt can now be cast while moving. They will also discuss Fel Flame's interaction with DoTs, although they worry it might to get it in the right place. Edit: Typo fixed! |
For me it was 3.0 (or Wrath of the Lich King launch, more accurately). Northrend is just a piece of content that I still find captivating (particularly Howling Fjord, Grizzly Hills, Storm Peaks and Icecrown).
If I had to pick a particular patch, 3.1: Ulduar! |
Why? you might ask and if you do then it's pretty much obvious you never played vanilla wow and are pretty much an product of the latest expansions and so used to everything handed to you through LFR that if you were forced by blizzard to actually put in some efforts to get anywhere in the game again you'd be crying your pants off about it. If someone doesn't agree with you, you conclude they haven't played Vanilla, and then, at the end of your post Well I've made my points looking forward to the bashing I'm going to get for not liking progression of an game etc. So, anyone that disagrees with you is bashing you... Which means there isn't much point to keep this thread open. It's cool you think Vanilla is better than MoP. But this isn't certainly the best way to have a constructive discussion on the forums, where not everyone will necessarily agree with you. |
If you feel at this point the game is just not giving you something fun to do (as you have listed all the features and your view on them) there's absolutely no harm in taking a break from WoW until the next patch. It's something it may help you to come back to the game with a refreshed view of it :) |
Good morning, i just read on the US forums that they will make Lei Shen 100% drop a Titan Runestone next reset. Yes, it will come to Europe as well :) As Rygarius explained on the US forums, the developers agree and feel that Titan Runestone drop too rarely. In our case, the change will be active on Wednesday with our raid resets! |
The developers didn't want these items (Heroic Scenario item level 516 loot) to be best in slot. They would like to see them replaced by more powerful items (even if those items are of the same ilevel).
Yeah it's quite silly that none of the scenario items have any sockets, Especially the helm. These items have random enchantments, and there are some technical limitations to have random stats plus sockets on them. The developers definitely agree that the helms might be particularly unattractive without a meta socket. |
Thank you for the reports! We let the devs know about this yesterday, and they will be fixing it :)
|
The developers applied a hotfix yesterday night to address this issue. So hopefully you won't encounter it anymore when pulling Durumu :)

There're a lot I like, but one that keeps coming back to me is the music that plays inside Halls of Lightning (5-man dungeon in Storm Peaks, for those that don't remember).
