I’m going to pull this over in to the CS Forum. The category you seem to have been given is a little strange as I show it as spam, not inappropriate language, basically what would be considered abusive chat. I’m not sure why it would not list spam as the reason. Sorry for the confusion there. Not if they are not properly reported they don’t. Additionally, simply because other folks are doing it doesn’t mean that you should as well. It’s like speeding. Just because others may be doing it to doesn’t mean you won’t get pulled over. Before I lock this up I want to clear up some confusion. As the Game Master said you were hit for spam. The other folks on your realm felt that your messages qualified as it and our review of the situation confirmed it. I’ll provide a sample of what the denizens on your realm would have seen. 12/11 2:40:18 General - /Message 1 While I appreciate that you want to sell your items, Blighteater, the frequency of your messaging is more than a little excessive. |
I think he was being facetious. >.> <.< |
From what I can see, Beepit, you currently have "Out of the Darkness" in your quest log. That is one of the quests for the Holy Artifact Weapon. :) |
She did not. She stated that he was a high profile political figure and typically political figures are not permitted. Beargrylls is famous, and on an RP realm may not be permitted, but on a normal realm it would likely be allowed, assuming there weren't any other mitigating factors.
No, she wasn't. The only thing she may have stated was offensive would have been when you starting using inappropriate language and calling her names. Even after that, she went out of her way to offer you a refund.
It likely was not on the list at that time. I am sorry for what frustration this may have caused you. It is never our intention to cause you to be inconvenienced, but if a name is found to violate policy, regardless of when it was created, we do what we can to make sure that those policies are enforced.
To be clear, the boost isn't purchased for an individual character, it is purchased on the account. When you use the boost is when those checks would apply.
Generally speaking the Armory should not be used to search for possibly inappropriate names. What you see may not reflect the facts of the situation. Such as, the majority of the characters that show up in the Armory for that name hasn't been logged in for months, if not years. It doesn't show if they've been reported for a bad name, if they are currently flagged for a rename, etc... If you see someone in-game with a name that you believe violates policy, report it.
Our policies are primarily reactive by nature. If the characters have not been reported, they likely haven't been reviewed. Your issue is more unique as you used a character service, which when it tried to validate the name found it was on our bad name list. If one of the other characters you are referring to were to do the same thing they would have a similar result. I hope that provided clarification. |
Understand, Wrecklêss, it isn't about being conservative or liberal, Republican or Democrat. We generally do not allow names of high profile political figures. Regardless of what side of the fence you may be on, it tends to be used to cause drama, encouraging harassment.
That is not to say that is what your intentions were, Wrecklêss, but we must look at the overall community and treat everyone the same.
A "toon" doesn't have a political affiliation outside of Azeroth. You are welcome to hold signs in support or against Sylvanas, if you wish. Or work on Anduin's next rally to support kobold labor laws, but when it comes to names we ask that certain guidelines are followed.
It isn't a double standard. We have done the same with other such names across the game. If you see a name that you believe may violate those policies, please be sure to use the right click report option to report it.
No, you hadn't been reported specifically. However, when we have confirmed a name is inappropriate it goes on a list. From that point on all players are otherwise prohibited from using the name. In your case you used a character boost, part of that process is that the name on the character is validated. When compared against the list and found to have a name that was prohibited it was automatically flagged for a rename.
Note, we didn't. You requested a refund based on the fact that you were unable to retain the name you wanted with the boost. |
Hey folks,
There have been a few of these threads so far so I wanted to pop in and just say that our QA and Dev teams are evaluating what hotfixes might be required. We'll have more information once that is ready. |
I'm sorry, Namecensored, but the two situations are entirely different. The quest you were referencing was "Greater Power for Greater Threats", which basically became obsolete. Since patch 7.3, traits are automatically unlocked at level 110. This quest is no longer necessary, and can be safely abandoned. That has nothing to do with Glasscarrot's issue of picking up the questline for their first Artifact Weapon. |
I think they mean for situations in which you are trying to do quest Y, but in order to get quest Y you need to do quest A through G in zone 1, plus another two quests in Zone 2 and maybe bring your reputation up to Friendly with faction delta. The requirements for a lot of quests, activities, etc... aren't always transparent in MMO's. Though they aren't necessarily intended to be. |
See, I believe it has improved greatly. Most questlines, especially the important ones, appear on the map so you know to go there and pick it up. If you abandon a quest, the exclamation point often will appear on the map to let you know where to go back to. Understand, there will always be some mystery when it comes to questing, since part of playing an MMO is exploring and figuring out for yourself what does what. For those who don't have the patience or desire to do so there are a number of sites where a lot of that information is available, usually figured out by other players. That said, as the others have suggested, if you have feedback regarding the experience I'd ask that you submit your suggestions through the in-game option in the help menu or by posting in the relevant section of the forums. For this probably the quest forum would be best. |
From what I can see, Glasscarrot, you started the questline back in March but recently abandoned the quest. You'll need to pick the quest "Call of the Wild" back up from Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem in the Moonglade. |
You haven't completed the questline up through Sizing up the Opposition, as noted in the Article. If you want access sooner, you can finish that line. You left off on Vengeance, from Illidan Stormrage. |
Not exactly. Your Shaman did a number of quests after it was boosted. Such as the Hand of Fate, heading into Argus. Most recently completing the Silithus questline. The following from the Level Boost Support Article should be applicable:
|
I can say that it is extremely unlikely for that to be true. A quest can be bugged or encounter might be bugged, but it is bugged for everyone, I have not seen a character or account bugged on an individual level before. In most cases you either started the questline and didn't pick up the next quest, or didn't finish the last quest from the previous Artifact Weapon quest. In your case it is the latter, you did the quest to pick up the Scythe of Elune, but didn't grab the follow up from Revil Kost "The Burden Bone". You'll want to return to Deadwind Pass and speak with him. Once you complete that quest you should be given the option to start another Artifact Weapon questline. |
Nothing that stands out as obvious to me, but it depends on when this may have occurred. One of the things I love about our support is our ability to help folks recover when the account is compromised. We can often repair 100% of the damage caused by a compromise. However, our ability to do that is extremely time sensitive. If it has been a few months, we may not have the information available any longer to do that. To me, the account doesn't have the signs of a traditional compromise, or even one used just to advertise. But only the OP really knows what they had on the account. So if anything is missing, they'd be able let our Support staff know to help in any investigation. A lengthy silence seems suspect, but it depends on the activity on the account at the time. That's why I'd encourage appealing the penalty. |
Entirely possible. I think the advice Stonebeard gave works with what information we have so far. :)
Angelikus, if you believe the account was compromised, or otherwise wish to dispute the silence, please report it via our Support Site. |
That isn't entirely true. Our Developers look for feedback from a number of areas, including other regions. That is what the members of our Community Management team does., They gather feedback to bring to the Development team. |
Queue times vary depending on what is going on. Patch 7.3.5 and the related launches around that caused a lot of contacts. We're starting to normalize now, but queue times are still a little higher than normal.
The last time I looked your ticket was in the hands of a Game Master, my guess is that it should be resolved fairly soon. |
You already have a ticket open, Bearicus, that is all that is needed. I just wanted to make sure that you opted for Protection when you boosts, to confirm that looks to be the issue. |
Bearicus, it looks like you used the level 110 boost on this Warrior. Did you by chance select Protection as the spec?
If so, it is possible that you are experiencing a bug with the boost that impacted a number of folks. The overall issue was resolved going forward, but we couldn't get it to apply retroactively so it is necessary for a Game Master to step in. Please let me know. :) ~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~ How's my driving? Click me. |
The quest isn't a stand alone, so you'll need to get Kah Kah to talk to you and give you that quest, Hotaka. Meaning completing the prerequisite quests.
If you are looking on the 110 Monk you are posting on, it seems you already completed that quest. I can't tell when or what you may have done with that reward, but it does seem that you already received it for that character. The pet can be caged, so it might be available on the Auction House. Alternately, you can complete the quest on an alternate character. |
