blizz hates conservatives?

Wrecklêss	wysłany: 6 lat temu i had a warrior named donaldtrump. the guild name was maga. i was stoked when i got it cuz it was the original. i boosted the toon from 43 to 110 last night cuz i got kind of impatient. when i logged in today i found out the are forcing a name change on my freshly boosted toon. why? because the name was "offensive" to them. now i was always extra polite to people cuz i knew there would be a huge target on my back. i received over whelming support from a lot of people. they still believe it is offensive even tho they admitted i had not been reported by any players for any offensive behavior. this is text book discrimination. they deliberately censored a toon because of political affiliation. why you just gonna take the money and run blizz? that was so disrespectful. to any blizz employee/gm that reads this. i am not trying to incite any sort of malice. i am trying to discuss why blizzard would tote an obvious double standard to a customer that has paid extra for a service.
Vrakthris	wysłany: 6 lat temu Understand, Wrecklêss, it isn't about being conservative or liberal, Republican or Democrat. We generally do not allow names of high profile political figures. Regardless of what side of the fence you may be on, it tends to be used to cause drama, encouraging harassment. A "toon" doesn't have a political affiliation outside of Azeroth. You are welcome to hold signs in support or against Sylvanas, if you wish. It isn't a double standard. We have done the same with other such names across the game. No, you hadn't been reported specifically. However, when we have confirmed a name is inappropriate it goes on a list. From that point on all players are otherwise prohibited from using the name. In your case you used a character boost, part of that process is that the name on the character is validated. Note, we didn't. You requested a refund based on the fact that you were unable to retain the name you wanted with the boost.

She stated that he was a high profile political figure and typically political figures are not permitted. What you see may not reflect the facts of the situation. Such as, the majority of the characters that show up in the Armory for that name hasn't been logged in for months, if not years. If the characters have not been reported, they likely haven't been reviewed. Your issue is more unique as you used a character service, which when it tried to validate the name found it was on our bad name list. If one of the other characters you are referring to were to do the same thing they would have a similar result. I hope that provided clarification.
