Yikes.
Okay, so our usual policy regarding the discussion of warnings/suspensions/bans applies here. It's not a topic that's appropriate for the forums, and you should either open another ticket or email us at [email protected] |
The name on an account is very important as it's one of several security points we use to verify account ownership. Allowing someone to change account information arbitrarily would compromise that security, and could lead to horrible cases of account theft.
The name on an account should always be set accurately to the name the person that registered the account with us. If an account has the wrong name, the important question is "Why?". Did you enter gibberish/fake information when creating the account? If so, we might be able to help, but you'll have to provide considerable proof of ownership to even stand a chance. Perhaps you bought the account from a friend/family member, or was given it as a gift? Unfortunately this means you're not actually allowed to be using that account; it won't be placed in your name, and you should stop using it immediately. |
Grats! Your green text will help convey the extensive experience you have with our character services... :D

Hi Herzen.
It sounds like your friend has probably fallen victim to a phishing scam. Please have him check through this information thread: Fake or ‘Phishing’ E-mails from Blizzard http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/900641151 If he's answered the email or clicked any of the links in it, he will probably need to treat his computer and account as compromised: [Guide] How to SCAN and SECURE your PC http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1820913657 Account Hacked/Stolen? I like how you missed out the very next line from that quote:
It's true that we're not out to punish legitimate/innocent players, but by your own admission you were aware that these were potentially exploitative items. That doesn't incriminate you, but it means that you cannot hide behinds claims of ignorance. If you wish to discuss this further then I suggest you email [email protected] |
Our ninja looting policy is explained in detail in our spotlight post. I recommend that you read through it carefully, and if you have any comments or feedback you can post them there:

Hi there, Gulvan.
Thanks for posting your findings. If you could repost this into our bug report sticky that would be really helpful, as we track all of the reported issues via that thread: 4.3 Known Issues & Bug Reports http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3056495855 Regarding whispering players on other realms, one workaround you could try is leaving out the space in the realm name, e.g., /w Player-BurningLegion Kill ALL the whelps! Some players have had success with this method, and hopefully it will help you too. :) |
Hi there, Tukkéred.
I'm very sorry about this. It looks like, as Shantotto suggested, a response meant for another player was sent to you by mistake. Had the proper response been sent, it would have thanked you for reporting the suspected bot. You did the right thing by contacting us and, despite what this mistake might suggest, we really appreciate your help. :) |
Glad to hear that it's been solved! :) *tips hat to the GM* |
Glad to hear that everything's been sorted, Benedictione. Please don't hesitate to contact us again if you need any further assistance. :)

Our support article explains our policy brilliantly and I highly recommend reading through it. :)

Hi there, Ironforce.
I had a look through the tickets that you've sent us over the years and I couldn't find any where you were reporting harassment. Was it from a different Battle.net account? Without knowing exactly what happened I can't really comment; all I can say is that every report of harassment is investigated thoroughly and that we take it very seriously. I would, however, recommend that you /ignore the player's involved and refuse to reply to any of their messages. When looking through your tickets I saw that you've recently had some trouble with master looters keeping items for themselves in raids, and that our inability to assist you was quite a disappointment. I can appreciate why, but unfortunately we cannot enforce the ninja looting policy upon heavily subjective looting rules like MS>OS. This is explained in more detail in our policy spotlight: Policy Spotlight – “Ninja Looting” http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/900641023 Finally, I know that botting/exploiting is a hot topic and that many players often feel that their efforts to report them are wasted. Please trust me when I say that your support is incredibly important to us and that your time is never wasted. Yes, we have our own internal methods and processes in place so one could argue that it's unnecessary, but reports sent by players often give us additional information; every little bit helps, truely. The problem is that our actions are rarely apparent despite being pretty effective. We collect a lot of information and use extensive investigative processes to ensure that we have a large impact. It's a lot of behind the scenes work that, sadly, gives the impression in inaction on our part. All I can say is that such an impression is wrong. :) You can read more about it here: F.A.Q. – Bots http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/900641315#8 I realise that your mind is probably made up and I sincerely wish you the best with whatever game you choose to play next, but I wanted to try and explain our point of view on these points a little better. Farewell. /tiphat |
An interesting question to be sure. For anyone interested, Caralinda has posted a new thread in the Interface and Macros forum here:

If you disagree with the action taken, please feel free to open a ticket or to email [email protected]. There's really nothing further that I can add.

Shammoz answered this perfectly. Basically you will need to contact our account and payment support team and provide some proof of ownership. If the account is registered to your father then you will need to provide a copy of his ID as well.
Personally, my recommendation is that you call us. Discussing this over the phone will expedite the matter and make it much easier for us to help you. :) Account and Payment Support https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/account-and-payment-support [Guide] How to call Blizzard http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/900641450 |

Hi there, Palapop.
I encourage you to contact [email protected] and to provide feedback about how your case was handled, how you were treated, and how we could improve. There is very little I can do for you in that regard here on the forums. Just to clarify, being suspended in-game will also suspend you from the forums for at least the same length of time. The reverse is not true, however. I apologise if you were given contrary information at any point. |
Hi there, Kupoh.
You say that you've contacted us several times, but I can't find any record of that. I see one ticket from you stating that you've been gone for over a year; the response you were given was that too much time had passed and that we no longer had any record of your items. That said, I've asked one of our GMs to take another look and they'll be sending you a response soon. Please keep in mind that this won't necessarily result in any items being sent, but we'll do our best. |
At some point you have to assume a certain level of responsibility; you chose to mail the item instead of trading or selling it via the auction house, and act that intentionally removes the item's refund timer (which you're warned about). Another player changing their mind/being a bit of a troll is not a valid reason for us to make an exception and refund the item for you.
That said, is there really cause for such a dramatic outcry? You weren't scammed - you still have the item and you can still sell it just as you originally intended. It really shouldn't be this big of a deal. :) |
Correct, and it seems like it's been sorted. :) |
