When I was looking through the Arena forums a while ago, I noticed that a lot of threads were from people trying to find a cross-server RBG group. Now, officially, that belongs on the Recruitment forums, but it seems obvious that people won't be convinced to post there all that willingly.
Therefore, after I noticed that this was a big success on the German forums, I figured it could be useful to also set up an English thread where you can look for an RBG team cross-server.
Unlike the German forums though, I won't keep Horde/Alliance separated, to avoid these forums getting too much spam due to the stickies.
Anyway, if you're looking for a cross-server RBG group, you can do so in this thread. Judging from the German forums, it works perfectly, and it should save a lot of spam.
To make everything a bit more organized, I will give you an example layout of a Looking For RBG group post:
-Faction
-Class
-Spec
-Rating experience in RBGs
-Your current, estimated, MMR
-Times and days you can be available
-Ways to be contacted
-Any other info, like rating experience in other brackets, times played on a character or w/e else you can think of.
That is for individuals of course. If you are a group looking for players, I'll leave it all up to you ;)
Additionally, if you want, you can also join an IRC channel setup by Sarco to find teammates. All info about that can be found here:
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/3312964027?page=1
So well, good luck with those RBGs then!
Edit:
Nakatoir made a rather wise comment later on which I would like to repeat in here: please don't add your Real ID emailadress into this thread. You can always give it to the person you're talking to later on, but not immediately on these public forums.

He's still here, he just doesn't post anymore ^^ |
A Community Manager, like Nakatoir, Takralus and Vaneras, who you might have seen on these forums. |
I don't get these comments. Just for the record, Nakatoir has been posting on the PvP forums a lot lately, and since he has started working as a CM for Blizzard, he has probably made more posts on the EU PvP forums than there have been posts on the US PvP forums in the past 6 years combined. So I don't see why anyone would complain about a funny post once in a while. At least I found it funny ^^ |
And you are wrong, but how do you expect me to prove it? I am still a Rogue and I do still vouch for a damage nerf for Rogues. But well, you are probably just making that comment for the conspiracy theories, aren't you? ^^ Conspiracy theories will get you nowhere. |
895 ^^ http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/search?q=nerf%20X&f=post
As mentioned, that one is from quite a couple of patches ago. So no, indeed, searching the forums like that has little effect. |
But you get more publicity by making 1 big thread than by making 50 small ones like they do now. With 1 big thread, you'll appear on the popular topics section for days, you might get a blue reply so you will end up on the bluetracker etc etc. With 50 small threads, all you'll get is an extremely messy discussion, which would drive me crazy if I was a CM, and these forums being filled with the same kind of boring thread. It won't make these forums more attractive. So if you really want some changes, keep a thread which is already popular high on the page rather than creating a new one. |
Those are not very representative though. For example, Rogues have only been really overpowered since 4.3, although personally I find them too strong since 4.1. Either way, they were at best moderately overpowered since 4.1, and only few really complained about them. Frost Mages on the other hand have had loads of complaints for ages. What makes these numbers unreliable is the fact that they date back to the first existence of these forums, meaning some of these threads were even still from WotlK. That doesn't give a clear image of what Blizzard does/has done. Of course, Vial of Shadows has much less threads, but that's because there were no threads about Vial of Shadows back in WotlK.
Publicity yes, threads no. It is of more use to keep everything in 1 thread, or otherwise these forums will become a mess. And who wants to work in a mess? It will not only be off-putting for CMs to gather feedback from the PvP forums, but it will also make it harder to follow all those opinions and get the right changes. I'm not saying Blizzard has listened well to the PvP community, but the evidence you use here isn't the right one. Additionally, creating threads like these won't help, while keeping one thread active and with a lot of pages will. |
No, something seems buggy Nimloth. It doesn't work for me now anymore either. Sure, this thread has had almost 200 views, but I can hardly believe the website can't take 200 views right? I'm not very technically experienced so I wouldn't know for sure ^^ |
The internets approve ^^ They are some good guides, I could use them if I ever get back into RBG leading. And I love that picture on the front page. Seems so familiar :P |
Last week I created a constructive thread on these forums, and this turned out to be quite successful. As an effort towards making these forums more constructive and getting some much needed changes through in PvP, I have decided to make this a weekly thread.
Therefore, I will create a constructive thread with the same format each week, hoping to get some useful comments and suggestions so that the CMs can gather the info, and the devs can hopefully make some useful changes. After all, bashing the devs will not get changes through. We will have to convince the CMs that changes are needed in a constructive way, otherwise they will just seem like baseless complaints. Therefore, I hope that you could all share some constructive comments about the subject, hopefully including possible solutions or measures. I will start with my own opinion in post #2, but the goal is to make this into a constructive thread where you can voice your opinion. You aren't even forced to read anyone else's comments, as long as you keep it constructive, subjective and on topic, although discussion is of course preferred ^^ This week's topic is: The amount of damage/healing done compared to our hp-pools So, the relevant questions are: -Do you think there is a problem at all (with burst or maybe even with sustained damage/healing)? -If so, how would you fix it? -What do you think of the current value/scaling of Resilience? -Do you have any other comments on this subject? Please keep in mind that the best solutions are the ones which have the least influence on the rest of the game, and only fix the actual issue. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Additionally, since this will be a weekly thread, I will need a new subject every day. I am not the most imaginative person, so if you have any suggestions for a subject for another week, please send them to me (not in this thread!), either through in-game mail, on the email-address [email protected], or even on Twitter if you want. Thanks ^^ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
I want to finally get my Battlemaster title and the 100k HKs achievement.
Additionally, I also have a dream of reaching that Rival title, but the chances of that ever happening seem slight, especially since I haven't had a serious 3v3 team in ages ^^ Oh, and server first level 600 LW. Apparently I've got a lot of plans ^^ Happy new year everyone! |
I'm not so sure Lil Dalrian would appreciate that :O
But it is an interference with the market. See, WoW's economic model seems to be following that of Adam Smith: The Invisible Hand. According to Smith, an economy would work best if there was completely no interference by the government, because in times of adversity, the market would restore itself. That's basically what WoW is going for as well ^^ Although it could also be that they thought a lot simpler, I guess it is a decent reason to not-interfere with the market prices. It's not like AH prices can drop so badly that we end up in a recession, because it's a fictional economy, so we don't have to fear any kind of recession. The only thing which will happen is prices dropping and going up again, but that's how it works and how it should work. A lot of players even earn their money like that. Therefore, it's quite important that they don't start using maximum or minimum prices. It makes the AH a lot more interesting as well. |
Welcome and congratulations!
Well deserved, I had been expecting to see you with green text quite a bit earlier to be honest. Glad to see I'm finally not the new guy anymore as well ^^
What happened to the cookies? :O Someone has got to mention cookies in a thread like this! |
