Giving Gifts in Game

blizz -> wysłany:
The Feast of Winter Veil is coming soon and as many of us may be working on gift buying lists outside of the game, many work on lists for in game too.

Do you take time to give gifts to guild mates, friends, significant others, etc? What types of gifts do you tend to like to give? If you've gotten any gifts, what were they?

One time I had a random character dressed as Santa open a trade window and give me 10 gold and some cider. It made me smile =)

That's awesome. :)

Okay. As a testament to how thoughtful my guildmates are, they deal with how dumb I am every day and still love me.

Yesterday a good portion of them spent time running my druid through non-heroic 85 instances to try and get her ilevel up high enough to do baby heroics. My ilevel kept inching higher and higher but I couldn't figure out why it wasn't going over like, 320ish.

Finally I whispered to my friend:

"If I don't have a relic equipped, would that be dropping my ilevel?"

This has led to MUCH poking and laughing at me. I felt like such a heel. And now I owe them many, many future transmog runs. I even did Hyjal even though I have night terrors about running that place when it was relevant content.

So my guildmates have given me the gift of tolerating my brain fart moments.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

I gave a level 42 5k last year. *shrug*

Didn't even know 'em

Random acts of kindness are some of the best.

I've gotten into the habit of giving out Winterspring Cubs myself to random people and new guildies and lowbies. Probably the best gift I got was in the first year of my guild. One of the young'uns asked me what my favorite color was and I told them it was blue. On my birthday, I found, in my mail, an azuremoon stone which, at the time, cost a small fortune.

It sat in my hunter's backpack right next to my hearthstone until I stopped huntering. It saw my pally all the way through from TBC to Cataclysm and now, it has a place of honor in Huggywuggles' backpack, as usual right next to the ol' hearthstone where I can always look at it and think back to a wonderful, thoughtful gift from a wonderful, thoughtful person.

My guild leader will do a Santa thing. He has an alt just for this time of year where he is dressed as Santa and will sit in storm wind asking people what they want for winterveil. If it is not too crazy on the AH he will buy it, wrap it, and mail it to them.

That's a great tradition to have! ;)

While this is not in game, my guild leader gets all of the addresses for our long time players and officers in guild and sends us a little care package. This year she mailed us all t-shirts with our guild name, tabard, and name of our main characters. She also sent us some home made fudge, but don't ask me if the fudge was good or not-- my girlfriend promptly told me I was not allowed to have any and she enjoyed the sweets. Dirty rotten scoundrel girlfriends...

That is just so sweet and adorable. What your guildleader did, I mean.
