General MVPs should not exist

blizz -> wysłany:
It is my firm opinion that, outside of tech support and costumer service, the "new" MVP program is only going to end up causing all kinds of drama going forward.

Not withstanding the fact that Blue isn't about to suspend the program they just spent a bunch of time setting up, I hope that when the issues start cropping up they will reevaluate the concept of elevating some posters over others in a forum run by a company with the motto "every voice matters."

It seems to me if you don't have green text, your voice won't matter. And we all know you don't get green text without being totally in Blizz's corner 99% of the time, which is a whole other issue.

I have a couple of contacts outside of the forums, but it really does not give much more information then what the ordinary player has already.

Sounds pretty amazing to me. You mean, they actually talk to you at all?

I think you might have some misunderstanding what Blizzard intends for the MVP program.

Perhaps that is so, but I think you severely underestimate just how bad the communications apparatus has decayed. What little you acknowledged would be incredible for any of the rest of us.

I sincerely doubt they have the power and influence over Blizzard that you seem to think they do.

Don't misunderstand me. Dialogue is not power, but it is influence by definition. Though likely very mild. Even some Blizzard influencers shape policy with their words. But somebody has to be able to hear those words, or even uttering them is pointless.
We'd love to talk to you if only you didn't constantly bring negativity with every thread, tweet, etc - why do you think we would want to engage with that?

Part of our jobs here is to collect feedback to take to the development team, sure, but another part is fostering and supporting the parts of our community that will continue to help the community grow and become a more constructive place. I don't see any reason why it would be in our best interest to actively engage with a part of the community that is cynically negative.

I don't want to sound harsh, but come on now - this is very much out of hand. This entire thread just goes to show that whatever crusade you're trying to rally here isn't really happening and is definitely not appropriate.

I'm closing this thread, and hopefully we don't have to have this discussion again.

You are wrong. I was actually interested in joining, but as I feared I never got even a remotely fair hearing. That's not really important though.

This is actually incorrect. You actually had a pretty good application and made it through our initial round of pruning as well as the first round of actual rejections, you most likely as well would've made it into the final round. We removed you at your request but we had no ill will against you. I was actually looking forward to your application because it seemed like you were legitimately interested.

For some transparency in our review process, we've actually hid the names until the end so that we don't know who it is we're reviewing. We wanted a 100% clean slate as both Orynx and I were obviously not around in the original MVP creation. With it having a new role and members, we didn't want anybody to carry past judgments into this new program.

We've actually been specifically looking for people that challenge us, as an MVP is not someone that should just be blinded by us being Blizzard. We should be called out if you disagree with something we're doing and an MVP is a person that should be an example of a way to do that respectfully and eloquently.
