Lack of Forum Blue Posts

blizz -> wysłany:
Why are there so few blue posts on forums anymore? A few years ago, there would always be 3-4 posts visible on the General Discussion forums that indicated moderator involvement. Now, we're lucky if we see one once every few days.

Their involvement made me, and I reckon many other players, feel as though Blizzard believed in consistently monitoring player feedback and communicating their intentions/clarifying their adjustments. Now, I feel as though they simply don't care to engage in any sort of discussion regarding the game's current trajectory.

*The sky blackens as the moon turns crimson red, you feel the very stone beneath your feet crack, the sea recedes back as if it fears what is coming, somewhere in Westfall another cyclone touches down. You see in front of you a rune that slowly etches into the ground and a creature begins to take form*

Sup y'all, its ya boi.

There are a few blue posts, but it is a weekend, many have slipped down to page 7 or 8, and that is only going back 8 hours. The forums are mainly for player to player discussion though, and Blue posts do have a tendency to throw off normal discussion. There is a Blue tracker on MMO Champion, if you want to see the latest posts.
As an on-topic reply, this is pretty much the case.

Our posts have the rare "Derail Thread" ability, so we try to avoid interfering in good conversation unless necessary to provide updates and such, which isn't all that common on feedback discussions.

It's good to note that Ythisens and myself aren't working on the weekends, so we're just now back in the office. How active we, specifically, may be on the forums week-to-week fluctuates back and forth depending on the other things on our plate.

As always, we're working towards a place of being better communicators.

You did, but I just don't agree with the conclusion you drew. If I have to see blue posts that don't directly address a subject with new information, I'd rather see blues with some personality when that happens.

That's just personal preference, of course, but I think most of the reasonable people you mention in your post probably feel the same.

Let me ensure that I understand your comments. You are saying that if you saw a "Thank you for your feedback; we will relay your comments to the developers" message, you would feel...how?

Not unhappy, because you did not say that. But you did say that you would prefer a post with greater information. Well, of course you would prefer a post with greater details; I do not disagree there, as I imagine that many people would.

But the crux of the issue is this:

If you had the choice between:
A, NO RESPONSE
B, A response that tells you "We're listening and looking into it"

Which would you prefer? That is my point. I hope it makes sense.
I personally get where you're coming from, as a "customer", but if you take a step back and think about it, what does a "Thank you" provide to the thousands of posts we get a week besides making fluff and filling up the forums with Blizz symbols?

I'm sure that the OP of such a thread would feel a bit better, but that doesn't mean, by any stretch, that we are making a change in response to that feedback.

I think I would rather we engage and provide conversation, and important updates to questions/concerns - when the opportunity arises that feedback leads to change, we will comment on threads surrounding that change.

We are constantly working with the development team to get more commentary, but I think that now more than ever that commentary exists in different mediums than the forums alone - blogs, social media, developer Q&As, press interviews, etc., so you may be feeling a symptom of that as well. :)

What are we if not slaves to this torment?

So, you'd rather just.. completely post irrelevant info in random threads like this instead of info like that? Ok... That literally did not explain why Blue posts can be found nearly solely in threads that are pointless?
You're really on the roll with misleading posts today, eh?

As I said, I would rather we engage where we can, with what we can, and provide valuable commentary as we're able. Sometimes that "valuable commentary" also comes in the forum of community building - a la talking and having a bit of fun with posters.

Not every post needs be a serious reply or an acknowledgement of feedback, and we will handle the replies to those posts when needed, as needed.

When 98% of your posts are irrelevant information in threads that have little to do with the actual game then you become known for only posting that, is what I'm saying. Not every post should be in irrelevant or non-game related threads.
Good thing 98% of my posts aren't irrelevant information then! Whew! :P

Well, that went downhill quickly. I think this thread served its Sunday night purpose.

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
