The original poster has had his question answered, so closing this out. I cannot speak for game intent, being neither a developer nor a liaison for them.

Yay! I think... Glad to hear your back in action, and sorry for the issues. |
Depending on a few factors, this might be something a Game Master would investigate, Worgenbane. Generally speaking, we don't assist with issues in the open world related to combat, PvP, etc. but a player from your own faction does introduce some factors that the investigating Game Master may take into consideration.

A bit of inconvenience is the price of added security at times. As others have noted, the system should adjust to your play-style over time, with an Authenticator bringing additional security.
Apologies for the bother, Vens! |
We understand it's not the easiest undertaking to get an authenticator removed, but this is mostly intentional. If all you had to do to remove an authenticator was ask, it would serve little purpose in protecting your account. Understand that we ask for basic identification to be make sure you, the account owner, are the one trying to retrieve access.
If you enable Battle.net SMS Protect, you can have an authenticator removed via text-messaging: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/battlenet-sms-protect |
I am excite.

They aren't "being mean". They are 1) Disrupting the player from playing 2) Harassing the player(being mean and harassing are different and this is downright harassment). You are right - my post wasn't entirely clear. But, getting into a dungeon group and having players make fun of you or telling you you're doing a boss wrong or tanking in a cloth dress - none of these are violations. If they are berating the player using offensive language, these are absolutely the kinds of things we would investigate. If they are bypassing ignore or having all their friends message a player, that's harassment of another kind (like the ongoing type you quoted). Ultimately - and correct me if I'm wrong Dannoyer - as the player, I may want "retribution" against the jerks in my group, but really I just want to get into a new dungeon and move on with my life. As far as being worried about being punished - it didn't sound like you were doing anything wrong. If members of a random dungeon group want you out of the group, they can use the vote-kick system. Bullying or coercion aren't how you get what you want, and we won't action you for standing up for yourself (respectfully). |
I'm not sure, to be honest. There's various rules of exemption from the debuff that aren't apparent to players and even myself. |
I've removed the screenshot since we don't allow content or posts that directly call out other players.
Ultimately, if you encounter this kind of behavior in-game, your only option is to either attempt to vote-kick or move on to a new dungeon. I understand you can't vote-kick the other players out as they outnumber you, and I understand flat out leaving the dungeon will give you deserter. It's definitely a bad situation with no real good outcome, Dannoyer. Even if our Game Master staff are able to intervene, it would most definitely be faster to just find a new group. I encourage you to report harassing behavior via right-click reporting, but understand that being mean isn't a violation of our policies. |
Our Terms of Use and In-Game Policies dictate guidelines for what isn't acceptable in our games, Aceventauren. Our goal in enacting and enforcing these policies is that we foster and allow for a safe and fun environment for all players. Are some players unaffected by profanity? Yes. Are some players offended by profanity? Yes. Ultimately we work to enact a balance that allows players to express their feelings and thoughts without offending others and encroaching on their experience.
The question as to why profanity offends people or why society sees these items as "taboo" is beyond the scope of these forums. I realize your desire to discuss philosophy on this topic, but the Customer Service Forums are not the appropriate place to do so. |
Reporting players is a method of bringing potential policy violations to our attention, not a method of punishment.
A Game Master will review the information, apply our policies and, as appropriate, a penalty to the reported account ranging from warning to account closure. If no policy was violated, the user is never informed their account was reported, and the issue is closed out. |
