Hey guys,
This thread is getting a bit off topic and I won't have people casting aspersions at an entire battlegroup of people. I'm going to lock it right here.
As I mentioned before, Technical Support doesn't make decisions regarding which realms you share with the cross-realm feature. We're here to help you with game crashes, disconnection and latency issues, etc. If you wish to discuss CRZ issues, I recommend creating a new thread on the General Forums where our game designers will see it. We appreciate all the feedback we get there.

Gentlebreeze,
As Joynal mentioned, I'm speaking only to the technical aspects of how the realms are connected. Your server is still on the Phoenix data center, but the people you see in Cross Realm Zones now may be on the LA data center. There's always going to be some adjustments when we make changes like this. If there are certain people you wish to play with, I'd recommend becoming BattleTag friends with them. You can always adventure together that way. Please also note that Technical Support does not make any design decisions regarding the game. If you're upset about a change and would like to provide feedback, please use the General forums. ______________________________ Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Pacific Time Rate me! Click here! |
Gentlebreeze,
Nesingwary hasn't moved, it's still part of the Phoenix data center. It is connected to Vek'nilash so you will see more connections to the Los Angeles center as those players move around on your screen. But you are connecting directly to the Phoenix center still when you connect to Nesingwary. Taralin, The realm times are just displays we tack on to help players organize on their realm. They can display anything we want and we haven't changed what they have always displayed. The actual servers are all set to UTC time so they can talk to each other properly. ______________________________ Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm Pacific Time Rate me! Click here! |
This sounds like it's related to this thread:

I guess they think that deleting all the posts about the problem will make it go away. We're just trying to consolidate all the information into one place. ______________________________ Rate me! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Jurannok |
Serbatoio,
With the recent release of 5.3, there's nothing on the PTR to test right now. The server was taken down. I'd recommend watching the PTR forum for information on when it may return. Attempting to log in to it when it's not there will always give you an error. ______________________________ Got Feedback? |
Oh, I see. If you're using a Mac as well that changes the steps we can do. I'm no expert on Mac systems, so let me move this thread over to the mac forum.
|
Saskea,
It sounds like you're looking at the link for the Mac instructions I gave to Solvexx. If you're using a PC, please use the first link I mentioned. |
Saskea,
In your initial post you only mentioned deleting the cache files. What were your results when switching the DNS server information? |
Solvexx,
The Mac version is posted on our Mac forums: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7709862059 |
Saskea,
I see you're connecting from Australia as well. I'd recommend trying the steps in this sticky: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/7709861874 |
Cynris,
If you've started uninstalling then you may want to scan your system for any other WoW files that might remain. The Uninstall instructions will list those folders so you can manually do this. That page also includes information on reinstalling. |
Cynris,
It sounds like you have installed the game and are using the DVD to start the launcher. Do you have any shortcuts made for the game on your desktop or in your windows start menu? The default directory for World of Warcraft is: C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft |
Cynris,
When you start the installer for World of Warcraft it will connect to the internet and start downloading the latest launcher program. That's probably what you see installing first. You should let this continue to install so it can start downloading the rest of the game. If you have the Mists of Pandaria DVD, then use that to begin the installer. Otherwise use the website installer. None of the older DVDs should be used since they are all obsolete. If you encounter an error when installing, can you please describe what happens? |
Kerex,
It doesn't. World of Warcraft is actually a collection of programs, not a single one. Deleting that folder removed the program that was doing the update. You then download a new copy of the program that wasn't stuck. It started over. |
Kerex,
Lets try resetting the launcher game files. |
Vectors,
Do you have the latest updates for flash? http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Does the issue affect other web-browsers? Try using Explorer, Firefox or Chrome and see if the issue persists. |
Apoldelaman,
Please include a trace route to your realm as well. Instructions on creating the trace can be found here: http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/world-of-warcraft-traceroute ________________________________________________ Technical Support Want to speak with someone directly? http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/about/contact.html Check your G-diffuser system! |
Alright. Now that this thread is in Technical Support territory, I'm going to lock it. The thread quickly derailed and there was never any technical information provided anyway.
If you're getting disconnected or seeing latency when trying to play World of Warcraft, please create a new thread and include the following network information along with a description of the issue:
* Firewall (McAfee, Norton, ZoneAlarm, etc.) * Network Adapter make, model, and driver date and version: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=21137 * Router make and model * Cable or DSL Modem make and model * Is the connection wired or wireless * Traceroute to realm: http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/world-of-warcraft-traceroute ________________________________________________ Technical Support Want to speak with someone directly? http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/about/contact.html Check your G-diffuser system! |
