I could pretty easily write a few thousand words right now, but I did my best to keep this brief.
I began working at Blizzard way back in October of 2003, and every day of my experience here has been shared with you, the players, and content creators, artists, bloggers, AddOn authors, podcasters, streamers, forum trolls, and— man, anyone remember the old Off-Topic forum back in the day? That place was just absolutely cuckoo bananas. Anyway, Blizzard—and the community that surrounds it—has defined almost my entire adult life, and I am just so absolutely grateful to all of my friends here for having such an incredible and positive impact on who I am, and who I am yet to become. I don’t think I’ve had to make any decisions as difficult as the one to leave Blizzard, but a new opportunity has come my way, and I’ve decided to take it. While I think it’s all still sinking in, the other day I realized I actually get to be surprised by Blizzard announcements and releases again. Which, as a lifelong fan and rabid gamer it makes me giddy thinking about being able to sit in the audience at BlizzCon, watching a stream, or reading the newest blog posts, and seeing whatever’s in store next—for the first time. I’m looking forward to what’s next, and wishing you a life of joy, insatiable curiosity, and happy gaming. Definitely thankful, Bashiok |

@WarcraftDevs I am unable to Que for TW Dungeons after finishing the quest. Is this intended? Not being able to queue for Wrath Timewalking after completing the 5-dungeon quest is not intended. Fix in-progress. |
Day made.

Yeah! 110 people to be exact! :) As well as the person (and guest) that won the trip to BlizzCon. We're still finalizing some of the winners. Per the rules they have 10 days to respond to our email before we pick a new winner. Of course some people don't check their email, we pick a new winner, and sometimes they also don't check their email, etc. etc. this could go on for a long time... Plus the legal process for some of the larger ticket prizes requires physical documents being mailed back and forth. Long story short, we don't have a full final list of winners yet--although it's only a few stragglers remaining. Instead of posting all the winner's screenshots (111 of them)--not only because it's a lot of entries to post, but also because it was a sweepstakes, and not a judgment of the best screenshots--we're going to just be posting some of our favorites. We should have that up early next week if I were to guess. |
The common process when you get a position that involves an avatar is your submit a few names you'd like, and a few ideas for an avatar you like. Back in the day I submitted a few names, including Drysc, which became my name. I also submitted a bunch of avatar ideas, but one of them was "One of the Felwood trees with the face." and I suppose the concept tickled the team so much that it was the immediate winner. As for why I even submitted it as a choice in the first place... I would always just stop and admire the concept while leveling through Felwood. They're like a fun Halloween decoration or something. |
For all y'all forum goers, just a note that we just finished up our Blizzard Showcase panel at Comic-Con in San Diego, and we have a big ol' blog on the front page with a lot of the goin's on.
Enjoy! http://blizz.ly/BlizzSDCC |
Looks like Geek & Sundry posted a small guide on how to prepare for the Hall H line: http://geekandsundry.com/how-to-get-into-hall-h/
|
Well, as the Legendary Comic-Con page says:
Legendary’s Hall H panel will be taking place on Saturday from 2:30pm-3:30pm, and hosted by Chris Hardwick of Nerdist. Anyone at Comic-Con this week/weekend should certainly fit the Legendary panel into their schedule. I've gone quite a few times and I'm pretty consistently surprised at how many times I'm told I'll never get in, or that I need to camp for days, when I always show up just a little early that morning and get into the hall with room to spare. If you're there, it's not as crazy as everyone makes it out to be. In my experience anyway. |

Thanks for the bug report. Not personally aware of it, but we will certainly look into the cause if someone isn't already. To be clear: WoW Tokens cannot be deleted, expired, or in any other way removed. They should never be removed from your inventory (the bug you're reporting) but even if they are they'll always be mailed back to you until they're used. |
The doubled chance for Warforged Timewarped items is now live.
|
Correct. It's a catch up change. |
We’re preparing a hotfix to be deployed during next week’s downtime, which will make a few changes in time for the new raid week.
This hotfix will:
We’ll be pushing a separate hotfix live today that will double the chance that a Timewarped item drops as Warforged, which increases its ilvl at level 100 from 660 to 675. |
Unless you were Doing It Wrong™ your Garrison has/had a Salvage Yard. That's not an interesting building choice, and clearly the rewards it provided were just too good to value any other potential options. Buildings providing clear benefits at different stages through character level and Garrison progression work out, but the Salvage Yard was just the only correct answer for everyone.
I totally get that the rewards were really good, and now they are not as good, and... that's bad because we all like good rewards for little effort, but the goal of balance is not to have one clear path of least resistance, especially considering the gameplay it involved were simply Garrison missions. It was impactful enough a change though that we waited until 6.2 instead of changing it earlier through a hotfix. |
This issue was hotfixed yesterday, but for those already impacted by it you'll quite likely need to open a CS ticket to have someone advance you through the quest line manually.

@WarcraftDevs Will the conquest gear from Ashran/RBG boxes have sockets/warforged? No, they do not. |

Dear @WarcraftDevs are BoE's in Heroic full guild group supposed to be personal loot? We can't Masterloot them. Hellfire Citadel trash is Personal only; condolences to PUG leaders who hoped to reserve BoEs. |
