Does anyone ever think that...

The game isn't THAT bad,but the people are?

Their demands sometimes are a bit unreasonable, their behavious just...awful...

Like I'm really trying to play and enjoy the game but it honestly feels like the people just don't want me in it...

The loading tips say politeness will get you invited...it never does....overgearing the content however...

Another tip says you play wow,you rock! Well I sure don't feel like it....
And I definitely don't feel like other people that play it rock...well there are always individuals but...

Selfishness and just using people as a means to an easily achieved goal seem to be promoted in the game...

Idunno I know I'm about to get slammed for this but it honestly,is there anyone here who is like at least a bit unhappy with the way people treat each other in game, instead of being unsatisfied about the usual reasons, lottery legendaries and ever present class unbalances...

I think we, as players, have a tendency to focus more on the negative experiences than the good or "neutral" ones.

I've had times in WoW where I've been in particularly unpleasant dungeon or raid runs, but if I pull back and think about those experiences in relation to the amount of runs I've done over the many years playing this game - those negative experiences are very firmly outnumbered by more positive experiences, or even just runs that went without a hitch.

Many different kinds of people, from all over the world, play World of Warcraft and there are so many factors involved in determining how any given interaction will go.

Some players like social banter, others don't. Some players will say hello and try and make friends, while on the other hand some players won't because they just want to get the run done. Some players might just be having a tough time with something outside of the game and that anger gets misdirected and vented in-game. Then there are players who might just be pressed for time due to other commitments outside of the game. Of course, sadly, there are those who do just enjoy being mean on the internet.

On that note, if you do encounter players that are being abusive then I encourage you to report them to our Customer Support team using the in-game functionality so their activity can be reviewed.

It's worth noting that there have been plenty of community-driven initiatives over the years that have highlighted the really positive aspects of playing together in the World of Warcraft community. Right here in Europe, for example, we have the Fail Train community on Discord which is helping people find friendly and relaxed groups to clear content and do Mythic Keystone runs with. In the past there have also been global initiatives such as Friendship Moose.

In wow when you sign up for something you become a number, your ilvl, and oh boy does ilvl talk so loud. I've queued for groups so many times even as a healer, and the grp leader would just wait for 2-3 minutes and if noone else with a higher ilvl than me queues,I get an inv... Already I'm inclined to leave,it already feels uncomfortable knowing that the grp leader invited you just because he couldnt get someone who is like 880 for his normal mythic run....and you are 860/870...even if you are 850 thats still way more than enough... And what's worse, you might have taken someone's elses spot.

People just demand convenience, they don't care about the content after they've done it once, they just care about having it done as fast and as smooth as possible, and oh boy is there so much content repetition in legion. And in most cases, finally once you meet all of those requirements, you end up finding yourself boosting the raid leaders alt or his low lvl friend or something like that...

I can understand that it can be frustrating and disheartening to be declined from groups, but I think sometimes there's far too much intent being read into others actions than what there actually is.

For example when I did the 7.1 Karazhan attunement, within 2 minutes or so of putting up a listing for Halls of Valor Mythic, I already had 15 DPS applicants. When there's only room for 3 DPS in most setups, there's going to be someone innevitably feeling left out.

Now the factors for determining who to take will vary by person; some players prefer to have a mixture of ranged and melee, there are others who will just take the first X people who sign-up and roll with that, then there are others who might be looking to stack a certain armor type so that there's less chance of loot going to waste. Of course, some players prefer to take high item level players (and will often set higher requirements as a result) because they want a fast/painless run, and they feel this is the best way of going about it.

If you're finding it difficult to join groups - or feel that current groups are demanding higher than necessary requirements - then you have the tools available to you, just like everyone else playing the game, to form your own groups with requirements that you feel are more appropriate for the content you're looking to do.
