Thank You - For Everything!” wysłany:

Hey everyone,

As a World of Warcraft player from the very beginning, it was always a dream of mine to one day post in blue on the official forums, to share in the highs and lows as we adventured through Azeroth together. It was a goal I strived toward obtaining upon joining the Game Master team in Cork, Ireland way back in 2008. In 2015 that dream was realised, and I joined the European Community team in Versailles, France, and got to make my first post in blue (after going through the rather lengthy process of choosing an avatar name and getting it approved ). I still remember that day vividly, and how – almost immediately - many of you were demanding information from me on whether another patch was coming for Warlords of Draenor!

That ferocious energy is why WoW has always been a game very close to my heart. I started WoW during a very low period of my life, and (like many of you I imagine) was blown away by not just the world of Azeroth itself, but the players who form its community. I’ve made lifelong friends from around the world as a result of WoW - some of those friends have even gone on to get married and have children. Even after 11 years at Blizzard it still blows my mind to think that a video game could have such a profound impact on the lives of so many people.

I’ve always vowed to give back to the community as much as I could. While as a Community Manager the fruits of that labour often could not be shared, I have always been there – reading your forum posts, tweets, and reddit banter. Lurking in your discords. Watching your video content and streams. Always forwarding on your thoughts and feedback. Your boundless energy, creativity, passion, hunger, (and sometimes scathing humour) has always inspired and humbled me every single day. I count it as a blessing that I was able to meet some of you in person at events, and geek out about the game we love.

However, all good things must always come to an end, and after 4 years it’s time for me to put the lid back on this pot of blue ink. Today is my last day as a member of the European Community team. In a different timeline this might not have been the case, but starting next week I’ll be moving onto new challenges, and new adventures. While I’m excited for what’s ahead, I’m also sad to be leaving behind something that has been such a huge part of my life for over a decade.

So, I wanted to take this last opportunity to thank you:

  • Thank you to all of you on the forums – whether you’re a regular poster, lurker, or someone who chimes in occasionally, you made sure there was never a dull moment!
  • Thank you to everyone who came out in force to gamescom, Legion Café, and other events.
  • Thank you for putting up with my bad jokes and puns on the WoW social media accounts.
  • Thank you to all of the content creators for all the amazing creations you make (and for also putting up with my constant nagging).
  • Thank you, all of you, for making the WoW community the best there is!

You made this feel more than just a job, and I will never forget that!

It would be remiss of me not to extend a thank you to my colleagues on the CM team, many of whom have already moved onto new challenges, and new adventures. You were the best co-workers anyone could ask for.

‘Til we meet again, perhaps in the Shadowlands – THANK YOU, DANKE, MERCI, ¡GRACIAS!, GRAZIE!

For Azeroth,

Aerythlea

This thread is still moo-st fabulous

With the reveal at BlizzCon of the upcoming Shadowlands expansion, we’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding the schedule for the previously announced Visions of N’Zoth content update. To that end, we want to share that Visions of N’Zoth and the raid—Ny’alotha, The Waking City—will go live early next year.

Visions of N’Zoth is making good progress on the PTR, and currently with your help, we have been comprehensively testing the new content along with iterating on new systems like Corruption.

During the festive period, we want to be considerate of all our players with the release timing of new content. Many guilds are still progressing through The Eternal Palace, and we want to give them enough time to finish the raid and earn their Cutting Edge: Queen Azshara and Ahead of the Curve achievements before opening the new raid. We try to avoid releasing new content tiers during the festive period so that players are not encouraged to choose between progression and spending time with their families and friends. This also helps ensure us that we’re fully staffed to support any required hotfixes or turning issues that may emerge.

This will also give everyone extra time to enjoy the WoW 15th Anniversary event starting today, so you can play through the limited-time Memories of Azeroth raids and Korrak’s Revenge without having to rush through the festivities.

We’ll have more info on the new raid and content update in the next few weeks, so stay tuned to the forums and worldofwarcraft.com for the latest news as we head into the festive period!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the great questions.

I’ve forwarded them on to the team over at BlizzCon. Don’t forget to tune in on BlizzCon.com with the Virtual Ticket at 19:15 CET (18:15 GMT) tonight for the World of Warcraft Deep Dive panel, and then again at 22:15 CET (21:15 GMT) for the World of Warcraft Q&A panel.

Have a great weekend!

And we’re open!

We just announced our next expansion, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands!

Watch the “World of Warcraft - What’s Next” Panel at 22:30 CET (21:30 GMT) on Friday 1st November to learn more, and then return here at 23:15 CET (22:15 GMT) when we will unlock this thread for your question submissions.

BlizzCon 2019 WoW Q&A Submission

On Saturday 2nd November from 22:15 to 23:00 CET (21:15 to 22:00 GMT) on the Mythic Hall (D) stage at BlizzCon 2019, the World of Warcraft Development Team will answer questions from both attendees and those who submit questions online.

If you have a question you’d like answered at the Q&A, submit it as a reply to this thread.

This thread will close to new submissions on Saturday 2nd November at 14:00 CET (13:00 GMT).

Here are some things to remember when submitting a question:

  • It’s important to keep your question brief and to the point so that we can get to as many as we can.

  • If you see a question in this thread you would like an answer to, please feel free to “Like” it.

We anticipate there will be a lot of questions. With so many, we won’t be able to ask them all, but we’ll do the best we can.

Thank you!

The email address is one that many of our emails for Beta invites etc. get sent from, but any access should be visible in the launcher around the same time as receiving the email. The advice about not clicking any potentially suspicious links is generally sound.

Sometimes you might need to completely log-out (not just exit or close) the launcher and log back in again to force a “refresh” of the account info. Then if you click on the Warcraft III: Reforged icon, if you have access there will be a drop-down menu above the dimmed install button which you can select the Beta account from and install the Beta.

Hello!

Earlier this week, the Mythic Hall of Fame for Azshara’s Eternal Palace reached its capacity, and guilds around the world have until the next weekly reset in each region to earn their Feat of Strength. At that time, Mythic difficulty will become available to cross-realm groups.

Along with the closure of the Hall of Fame and the Achievement, we intend to make the following tuning changes during weekly maintenance in each region:

Dungeons and Raids

  • Azshara’s Eternal Palace
    • Lady Ashvane
      • Lady Ashvane’s health reduced by 5% in Mythic difficulty.
      • Waterlogged periodic damage reduced by 10% in Mythic difficulty.
      • Rippling Wave damage reduced by 10% in Mythic difficulty.
    • Queen Azshara
      • The "Stand Together!" and "Stay!" decree combination is no longer possible in Heroic difficulty.
      • Overzealous Hulk and Tidemistress health reduced by 10% in Mythic difficulty.
      • Draining Azshara’s Ancient Ward now reduces its energy by an additional 5 points in all difficulties.
      • Empowering a Ward of Power now increases its energy by an additional 5 points in all difficulties.
      • Healer-specialization characters are now less likely to be targeted with decree combinations that include “March!” in all difficulties.
      • Short Circuit now drains 10% less energy from the affected Ward in all difficulties.
      • Essence of Azeroth now has an increased duration if there are fewer than 20 players in the raid in Normal and Heroic difficulties, and lasts 30 seconds (was 25) in Mythic difficulty.

As always, we’ll let you know here if we decide to make any further changes.

Thank you very much!

Confession thread” wysłany:

When The Burning Crusade launched I re-rolled Horde with a couple of guildies on one of the new realms. Around level 40 while we were in Feralas, we camped on the boat between the Forgotten Coast and Feathermoon Stronghood and ganked any Alliance that boarded. For a good couple of hours that boat route belonged to the Horde.

(So the confession is, I played Horde once… and I had fun… but don’t tell anyone, For the Alliance etc.)

Becoming a GM” wysłany:

Unfortunately, I can’t really answer that as:

  1. Like any job, salary depends on many factors such as previous experience, knowledge, which office, personal negotiations during the hiring process etc. Even then the term “Game Master” is fairly broad and covers several functions and additional responsibilities, and things like performance can also affect the salary.
  2. It’s been some years since I worked in the customer support department so I’m not really up to date on what the going rates are etc.

I guess it’s also worth clarifying that our Game Masters provide support for most Blizzard games. It’s very unlikely someone would be hired just to be a GM on a specific World of Warcraft realm for example.

First character you've made?” wysłany:

Human Warlock.

Although I re-rolled to Night Elf Priest not long after I hit 60 on the Warlock because I thought the PvP set looked cool She’s pretty much been my main ever since.
