Scale Legacy Content!

blizz -> wysłany:
I would be surprised if this has not been brought up before, but I feel the topic is more relevant now than ever since new Legion zones are now using scaling.

I think it would be pretty awesome if all legacy content, including dungeons and raids, were scaled to level. This would provide the game with so much more content and depth.

This would make Xmog'ing more meaningful since you would actually have to go through challenging content to get the cool looking gear you want.

This would allow newer players to experience the legacy content for closer to what it was when it was released.

Most importantly, I think it would bring a TON of people back to paying a subscription instead of living on the legacy private servers.

I'd like to hear other's opinions on this including Blizzard's. This would be so awesome.

EDIT: After hearing people's opinions and reconsidering my own, I think I only would like scaling to be applied to instanced content such as dungeons and raids. It could even be optional as long as there were rewards for running the instance in scaled mode so that it is relevant.

I think it could be a cool feature that could bring a lot of challenge to the world, but I also personally recognize some people wouldn't like this.

I think many people feel they should grow in power over time as their character learns more spells, gains better gear, etc., and scaling legacy content without an opt-out system could really hurt those player's enjoyment of the content overall.

But on the other side I do agree it could possibly be a cool way to re-experience older content as it was meant to be seen. With the addition of World Quests in Legion, as well, I could a system like this being an awesome way to bring some fun interaction into older world zones.
