Where are the peacocks?

So we know there are hundreds of adorable little peachicks wobbling about in the wilds of Draenor, but where are their parents? How do more keep appearing if none of them survive past infancy?

I suspect all the peafowl have been herded into Tanaan to be raised by the Iron Horde as war mounts. I think whichever orc ends up being the last boss of 6.2 needs to drop a beautifully extravagant peacock mount to offer an explanation.

The Royal Peacock is a fully grown adult male of the species. The better question is where are the females?
