Community Tournament License Update

Community-driven tournaments are an exhilarating part of World of Warcraft eSports, and we’re always impressed by the passion and ambition that our players bring to life with their events. Every organized competition has to start somewhere, and now it’s easier than ever for you to host a World of Warcraft tournament. If you plan on running a competition offering a prize pool of $10,000 USD or less, you may not need to obtain a tournament license from Blizzard. Head over to our WCS Portal to learn more about hosting community tournaments for Blizzard games and how to ensure that your event runs as smoothly as possible.

Want to run a World of Warcraft tournament with a prize pool over $10,000 USD? That’s awesome! We’d love to work closely with you to ensure the success of your tournament. For larger tournaments like this, we can often help promote your event in the appropriate region, or offer other assistance. That process starts with obtaining a tournament license from Blizzard. Head on over to our Tournament Submission Form to start your licensing process now.

What if I want to run a tournament that doesn’t comply with all of the conditions in the community tournament guidelines? Let’s discuss it. We’d like to work with you to set up a tournament that fits your needs while also serving the needs of players and viewers. Start with the Tournament Submission Form, note any special conditions under ‘additional comments,’ and we’ll be in touch.

If you have any questions or concerns about running your tournament, feel free to contact us at [email protected].
