Our semi-casual 10-man guild is looking for a new tank, but the current main tank is a monk, and argument is that we should have one block (plate) tank as well, and for that they are somewhat reluctant to hire a guardian druid. Yeah, they'd share loot, but is having one block tank really that crucial for heroic raiding progress, or would it still be perfectly OK with going guardian druid / brewmaster?
Any opinions?
I'd say that it depends on whether or not you have any ferals/rogues in the raid, but ideally you should get a paladin/warrior/deathknight or you're just gonna shard all the tank plate. This sums it up pretty well. Classes that don't block have other mechanics that fill that same fnuction. But more imporant (I think) is that without a plate tank, you're going to miss important loot on your 10-man raid that will, no doubt, be very useful for your team when progressing through Heroic bosses. |
