As the title says. What's the point of having it ? What does it offer in a matter of balance, fun and game value ?
From what I see, it's a mandatory stat. Every class must get x% of HIT for PVE or PVP. Which they eventually get trough gear.
It does not make any sense to have it anymore, it does not improve your character, does not offer depth.
With the introduction of Resilience and PVP power this stat seems just a burden, something I must get, no choice or discussion about it.
As the title says. What's the point of having it ? What does it offer in a matter of balance, fun and game value ? Hit is a net DPS increase even if you are a spell caster, and depending on the level of gear you're at, you'll probably have to trade off other stats in order to stay above the cap. It feels mandatory because it makes you fail less attacks against your foes. So, having to keep that number in mind, means that you can't just stack whichever other stat + primary attribute you want all the way to the sky. And even on later tiers you still have to keep that number in mind. Also, for dual-wielding melee classes, hit has two caps, the "soft" one (which will make your special abilities never miss) and the "hard" one, which makes all your white hits land as well. And deciding if you want less white hits to miss, or 1% more crit can actually be something worthwile to discuss with other players that follow your play style. |
