Would you call your pet or child after an NPC ?

blizz -> wysłany:
Would seriously consider

Tirion for a boy (or male pet)

Sylvanas for a girl (or female pet)

Both really unusual names at least in the outside world.
blizz -> wysłany:
People name their children based on many different reasons, the likability of the sound of the name itself, local/regional rules, and given enough freedom you see parents coming up with names based on a lot of different things, those things can be characters that they admire in movies, series or games, or they can be real people, family, friends, artists, popular personalities…
You can dislike it or even feel a bit awkward and weirded out about seeing someone naming his own child after a video game character but the fact is a lot of people have done it before.

Personally I wouldn’t do it, but I don’t find naming a child after a video game to be any more uncanny than naming it after a character of any kind of work of fiction, and people do that all the time.
Here’s a famous example.
