My thoughts to balance PVP. Constructive post!

Greetings.

First of all, I'd like to point out that I know that I'm a warrior.
This is my last effort of making a constructive post about PVP at the moment.
I really hope blue's and you guys appreciate it and take the time to read it , it took me a long time to make this long post.
Now, back to my view of the state of PVP.

My view about Warriors.

- Skull banner and Recklessness shouldn't be stackable. This is the stack that gives us the high burst . It's not Reck + Avatar.

-Our mobility is finally fixed. The new glyph of Heroic Leap really helps out and gives us the ability to stand a chance against certain casters without a healer.

-Our base damage is in my opinion not too high. I'd say it's pretty much balanced our base damage.

-Taste of Blood :
Please remove Taste for Blood. It's so RNG and it doesn't fit with the playstyle of warriors.
Alot of people who are crying about youtube video's of warriors -> That's the one in a lifetime TFB 5 stack. Don't go crazy on it, it rarely ever happens in Arenaplay.
That is also the reason this should be changed into something else in my opinion.
Either make it pop more often and lower the damage buff. Or just remove it.

-Spellreflects :
I don't see any problem with having mass spellreflect . I tested it out and it's pretty nice against certain comps.

-Safeguard :
Mostly Safeguard talent is alot more usefull in Arena.
I think safeguard is a good thing to enhance our mobility while not making it too noobfriendly.
U can do alot with Safeguard. Intervene party 1-2 to prevent high burst . Intervening ur mocking banner, Intervening traps and so on.
This talent is one of the best improvements of the warrior class. (While not making it too EZ)

-Second wind :
I don't see this as an overpowered talent. We really need this passive heal or some kind of selfhealing or we die way too easily.
People who can't outdamage second wind... Try watching some movies of your class. Cause every class can easily outdamage Second Wind talent. Even when glyphed.

-Avatar :
Well , i'm not pretty sure about this talent. The damage increase isn't the problem. But the 20 sec freedom is a bit too much maybe.
I think changing it to -> 20 seconds 20% dmg increase - 10 seconds freedom will fix alot of QQ on your forums (haha).

Gag order
To keep it short : Remove pummel gag order , Keep the heroic throw one.

My view about hunters.

-Stampede :
U all probably know what I am talking about. But I'll explain it one more time. I am not sure that this is fixed allready or not (I heard some rumors it was).
I don't have a problem with them being up for 20 seconds.
The big problem is the damage output. This should be toned down alot.
U also can't CC the pet btw.

* In my opinion alot of hunters dislike being "forced" to play Beastmastery spec.
Hunters always liked they're class cause of the fun playstyle MM and Survival had.
Hunters are using bows and guns. They don't like it when they don't need to shoot a single arrow to do all their damage.
Make Marksmanship and Survival viable again.

-My view about Warlocks.

-Chaos Bolt :
It just hits too hard. It doesn't mean it has a long cast time it can hit you for half the enemy's health.
My reasonable fix for this is : Lower the damage -> Lower the cast time.
I don't see any warlock disagree with this solution.(Maybe some)

-Warlock healing :
Well, I see why they need it. Everyone's damage output is just way too high. I can't really complain about this cause they need it cause of the burst in the game at the moment.
My solution : Lower most classes burst = Slower arenaplay.
Then u can lower the warlock's healing too.

-Blood fear :
I see alot of people complain about this talent. I can understand why. An instant 8 second duration CC every 10 seconds is just a bit too much.
We also asked alot for less instant CC in PVP. Don't simply add more then ..
All these instant CC's are ruining fair and skillfull arenaplay.
My solution : Since u won't remove the spell -> make it 4 seconds fear instead of 8.

*My main in cataclysm was a Warlock. I loved the playstyle of it. Dot & Run.
In my eyes this playstyle is ruined by giving us a channeling spell and immune shields..
That's why i won't bother playing him this season. (No I'm not playing warrior cause of the burst, I'm playing it cause i like the playstyle and mobility)

-My view about Priests : First of all ,
-Discipline priests :
Discipline priests are pretty much the worst healers around there at the moment. If u look at other healing classes(not counting in Monks).
They have an awful amount of CC (will come back on that later) and defensives.

Well , Disciplines don't. I like the concept of discs, don't get me wrong.
BUT:
-Their healing is too low (PoM buff didn't fix it).
-Their damage output is too low.
-Their manaregen is too low(and spells to regain mana)
-I think spells cost an awful amount of mana for discs.

-Psyfiend pet is a terrible way of CCing someone.
-Dominate mind CC's the priest also.

-Priest has to walk to enemy to fear.

If u look at other healers :
-Shaman : Hex(ranged), Cap totem(ranged), earthgrab totem(ranged), Windshear(ranged).
-Paladin : Blinding light(close), Repentance (ranged), Hammer of Justice (pretty much ranged).
-Druids : Cyclone(Ranged), Bash(close, but they have ALOT of mobility so doesn't mather), Typhoon(ranged), Roots (ranged)..

Are u getting my point?
My solution for discs : Give them more mobility and a bit more healing power or absorbs. Buff their damage, this was the fun part of discs , able to do damage.
Also remove psyfiend into a decent CC ability.

-Shadowpriests :
In my opinion their damage isn't over the top.
The healing and absorb amount should be lowered.
This counts for all hybrid DPS classes.

-Druids :
In general -> Druids have way too much mobility!!

-Resto Druids:
-Damage : U all know it. It's over the top. Bring this down asap.
-Mobility/utlity : Breaking roots when shapeshifting .. sure.
But combine this with -> 30 second vanish , roots , typhoon, cyclone, bash = It becomes too much for a healer.
-Symbiosis: This is a rediculous spell to be able to use in arena. Please make it PVE only.

My solution for druids : Lower the CC resto's can use. Disable Symbiosis from arena. Make Displacer Beast(vanish) 45 second-1minute cooldown. Remove the slow effect from typhoon.

I won't go on any further classes then this at the moment, since it's becoming a very long post.

My general idea's of improving balance in PVP:

-I think all the high burst damage should be brought down = Slower Arenaplay.
-Hybrid classes should not heal that much .
-Healing should be brought down aswell from Shaman, Druid, Paladin. (If burst gets nerfed)
-Healers shouldn't have so much CC spells. (Druid, Paladin, Shaman, Monk)
-8 Second roots is too long , 4-5 seconds is better.
-Lower the amount of instant CC's, it requires no skill. (Arenaplay should be all about skill)
-Try and reset the season : Alot of people have been abusing the broken gameplay at the moment and don't deserve those titles.

Last words : I thank u all for reading my post (If u didn't, it's okay, u're only human).
I'd really like some decent criticism and thoughts on the other classes or the ones i announced.
I hope blue's read this and u guys responses.
Remember: This is my opinion about the current state of some classes.

Maybe I just might write a response on my thoughts on the other classes aswell :).

There are some nice ideas on this thread; I’ll try to keep a close eye on it.

We always prefer this kind of suggestions and criticisms about balance to be backed up by logical arguments and/or some real data, those can be parse logs, statistics, etc…

So if you think something needs to be changed, make sure to carefully tell us the reasoning behind it, if you just say for example, “Skull Banner needs to be removed”, that’s ok but it doesn’t really help us much, since we can only guess why, so please always explain your reasoning, even if you feel it’s “that” obvious.

Like I said, I like how this thread started, make sure to keep it that way and we might have some great feedback building up in here to send back to our dear development team.
