Spells/Abilities API?

Are there plans to create an API where we can pull data about spells and abilities? (if I missed it, I apologize)

While I could meticulously craft my own database of spells manually, it would be best if we could pull the data directly from the source (then cache it, and update them occasionally to keep current).

I'm planning a super simple tool that will use spell data, no heaving "sc@*#*#@" to occur.
