iv been around mmo's since the release of wow which was my first mmo...always trying the stuff that comes out...nothing ever compared...until now.
i feel like gw2 is totally under-rated by everyone outside the gw2 fan base which will become HUGE in a matter of a few month...its like nobody knows how good it is...everything felt so well made from the first step...being able to jump into a place where your toon is maxed out with everything for pvp...top level...best gear...all skills and freedom to spec how you feel like before every fight..in my early days of playing WoW and after putting in the effort and time needed for enjoying end-game pvp with more than one class i already had this feature in my mind.. all you need is to set up the interface and keybinds and you are ready for a fight... you'll need less keybinds overall since 5 abilities switch as you switch weapons...so some keys end up being used for more than one spell.
the combat system is next gen...as a wow player i felt at home...it feels fluid and responsive and it offers new features like double tapping movement keys to prefrom a short roll...it has a small energy bar so u cant spam it...this is useful for mobility and lets you dodge stuff...you can actually dodge stuff by moving away on time. there is one feature that sold me on the game right on the spot when i noticed it...you can chose if you want to "aim and click" or "click and aim-click" on aoe spells...i'll explain...lets say you want to use the warlock spell shadow fury for example...you would have to first click the keybind...and then the green aiming circle will appear and you'll then aim it at the target location heaving to click again to cast.....now imagine being able to aim the mouse pointer at the target location and clicking your keybind to deploy the spell...those of you who play diablo 3 might know that mechanic from there...it takes prractice to get good results with it...but once you master it... it lowers your cast time by a good amount....its stuff like that...the unpublished great little features you can find in a well polished game that tell me if its the real deal.
classes and races seem awesome.
i cant say much more since i had a very short time to enjoy it.
i guess i'll just say enjoy MoP....im gonna be some place else...
