MMO Champion Raid Consumption Disucssion

The discussion which you have caused in the last few days is quite extensive, I am here to offer my point of view which will be open minded.

I will quote what you have said multiple times and am not looking to argue but rather to get a feel for what Blizzard is thinking when it comes to designing new content and therefore the difficulty of that content.

I would like to start off with some questions directly relating to what you said published on MMO-Champion in the past couple of weeks

. In one of your previous posts you said "People do not care about what you do because this is just a game", I'm not sure what your point is here, your working for the company which designed this game, does Blizzard not want us to care that we are playing WoW and enjoying the game? and also if Blizzard doesn't care about what we do in this game why do they endorse live raids from some of the best guilds in the world and the Dragon Soul Challenge which top guilds compete in a race to complete Dragon Soul. I understand that this is great advertisement and there are other avenues why this is important, however I am sure that a great deal many people enjoy there experiences on the game whether they be casual or hardcore.

. This brings me to my second point, I would love to hear a long extensive post from you about what you think constitutes the difficulty of bosses, in one of your blue posts you said that you were aiming to create the MOP raid tier with a similar difficulty to Dragon Soul. I have nothing against this however would you say Dragon Soul was more difficult then tier 11 and tier 12 and why. I would love to hear your chain of thought and it would clarify allot and I think help ease the disagreement that is there between the community and Blizzard Devs

. This discussion is going to get long I am really hoping I will get a Blizzard response, I understand that Blizzard has to cater for casual players more then hardcore as of course the majority of the player base is casual in fact according to WoW progress not more then 60 guilds in the world on average every tier manage to clear content before nerfs come into play (Cataclysm Only). I would like to ask the question that in all the years of WoW it seems no one has asked. Will Blizzard ever cater directly for hardcore raiders even in the smallest of ways, I think an optional boss like Sinestra was an amazing idea and garnered huge praise for the Blizzard Development team from hardcore and casual players. I am sure Blizzard are not blind to see that the Ragnaros and Sinestra fight were more liked by a wider range of players casual and hardcore then the Dragon Soul encounters, in fact I challenge Blizzard to do a poll and see which was more popular just to illustrate my point.

So this brings me to the conclusion of point #3 which is, Blizzard obviously realize when they have created a less favorable encounter, however do you guys learn from these mistakes and provide better encounters for the next tier, or do you simply ignore the player feedback who pay to play the game, this is nothing to do with hardcore raiding, I found even the normal modes in t11 for example were extremely well thought out difficult yet doable encounters, Draztal you might argue that this is my own opinion, once again I challenge you to do a poll and if my side proves to be the right side, then I would love to hear your defense, or you could admit that Dragon Soul was horrible haha :D

I do agree with some of your points and I must admit you create very good reads, I would love to hear your opinion on these two points before I go any further

Kind Regards
Tekniqz :)

member of the development team.

Not development, I'm a member of the community team :-)

That being said, I'll lock the topic for the same reason Nakatoir closed the previous one. And I shall add, many off these questions, are, in fact, something only a developer can answer (like their opinion of the difficulty from one tier to another, etc).
