We play in Europe....

blizz -> wysłany:
....however, looking at your achievements you will see the dates displayed as they would be in America.

In Europe we are resonable and use this system:
Days < Months < Years

In America they do it different:
Months > Days < Years
- Which makes no sense at all.

Why do I have to look at this illogical system when I play in EU ?
blizz -> wysłany:
We are indeed in Europe and, as Antler points out, each country has their own way of doing things. So to keep things simple, we use the same date format for both the EU and US client.

I can't see how that is keeping it simple? - Since noone in Europe are using the illogical american date format.

Because not all European countries use the same date format I suppose, and this would create even more confusion than necessary.

Also, there are enough locale differences they need to deal with between the enGB and enUS client, so having the same date format likely makes it easier to maintain the code base of the game.
blizz -> wysłany:
Europe = International = use that damn ISO format! (international)
How friggin hard is that?

This isn't the only game that doesn't use an international date format, and this is an American game at the end of the day. If they used our date format, it would likely create confusion amongst players over at their side as well.

Nobody wins with these things.

There are no locale differences in enGb and enUS, if there are then please show me them.

The difference is that our client was designed to be used to connect to European realms, and European realms only. I have oftimes seen (on the technical support forum) users getting problems trying to use the same client to connect to both regions (whether its enUS or enGB) - the game data becomes corrupted as a result which is why its not supported... no matter how you edit the config files. This is what I meant by "locale differences".

Also there are functions in the windows API that allow the display you user specific date formats while still staying the same format internally. Just lazy programming.

Interesting to know :p

People had problems doing this?

Not everyone though, but some did especially since Cata. ;p

I think they patched that a while ago so there no longer is a realmlist you can edit.

There is one, its just in a different place :P
