A Thread of Thanks to All GMs

blizz -> wysłany:
I'd like to dedicate a thread of thanks to all GMs out there, who spend countless hours answering petty problems that players can normally look up.

For answering countless of stupid problems
For answering coutnelss complicated problems
For answering countless strange problems
For answering countless normal problems
For answering countless of stupid problems
For answering countless of funny problems

For having great senses of humor while answering problems
For not blowing up in people's faces for easily solved problems that they don't understand
For making jokes and funn references to lighten the mood
For not telling me that I'm a complete retard and need to quit life
For helping me through the most frustrating problems
For telling me that they can't help me because it is a spoiler... wait, ignore that one
For hinting about unique experiences that have some type of interesting reward

For throwing zombie parades on Halloween (you know who I'm referring to, unless you're not him)
For funny intros and exit themes
For telling me to clear my cache and game data ever single time (maybe not everytime...)
For telling me to reinstall WoW and waste a couple of hours (again, maybe not everytime...)
For bearing with idiocy on failure to recognize why we should perform those functions
For accepting our ungiven thanks when their advice works, but we still mock it
For not smiting me down with your mighty powers of Blizzard employeeship

And for anything else I forget to mention...

thanks

Thank you for your kindness, Zexak. Our Game Masters appreciate it. They do not often receive such praise, and it is always greatly appreciated. Should you wish to commend a particular Game Master, let their supervisor know by e-mailing [email protected] - they would love to hear it as well as any constructive criticism you might have!

I'd like to thank them for their seemingly universal ability to copy/paste form letter responses to your questions.

For some situations, there are only so many ways to say the same thing. When you receive 20-40 petitions regarding the same issue in a day, it makes little sense to continue typing out the same response repeatedly. Especially when there are so many of you to assist.

Our Game Masters are happy to converse directly or provide specific information when they are able to - but they aren't always in that position. Things like harassment reports, for example, will often get similar responses, as due to privacy concerns, Game Masters are unable to let you know the outcome of such investigations.

I'd also like to thank them for allowing the bot and AFK problems to continue, in hopes that we will simply stop complaining about it.

You would be thanking us for something we don't do, then. >^.~< Your reports regarding botters and those who AFK in battlegrounds *are* investigated and appropriately actioned. Many of those issues are escalated to specific teams or investigators who operate on a larger level. We have a team that works with developing systems to catch and suspend bots, and your reports help them immensely. They also have a few tricks up their sleeves for AFKers, and reporting individuals with right-click, Report AFK helps with this directly.

Furthermore, I'd like to thank them for... nothing really, because aside from returning items I've accidentally deleted, they do nothing for me.

Would you prefer it if we no longer provide support when you delete and item, lose a character, get compromised, or have your guild bank emptied because a guildmate was compromised? How about when we action players with inappropriate or offensive names, those who spam trade chat, those who exploit the game, and those who scam others in trades? That's just the tip of the iceberg of common issues our Game Masters handle each and every day.

It would be a very, very different game without our Game Masters; certainly nowhere near where it is today. There's a lot that they do that you simply never see. There's a good reason for this - for the most part, it's nothing you need to see, and being more public about many of the things we do would only serve to help those who aim to intentionally get around them.

Our Game Masters do not require praise, and I'm not asking you to send them flowers or anything. >^.~< But remember they do quite a bit, and are there to help you whenever they can. We ask only that you be respectful of the work that they do.

While the thoughts are appreciated, the thread's attracting some negative attention. Thank you again, on behalf of all our Game Masters. >^.^<
