TL;DR (too long; didn't read) version is down there somewhere. Skip to it if you don't need the story about some creepy stuff that happened.
I was on a female toon in Stormwind a few months ago. I would have dropped this memory out of my mind but something similar happened again. No joke but this is disturbing. It was on Darrowmere server. I saw it was rated as "new players" for a little bit. New player servers are really fun to level your toons up in. The starting zones are so crowded that it makes it feel as close to vanilla wow as you can ever get. So I decided to try one out.
K. Human female paladin. Why a female? It was a level 1 that I named Dora and paid for someone to take me to each zone to get the Explorer title. Dora is a girl. Well some guy pst me and said something along the lines of "hey sexy." then he kept psting me so I ignored him. So he got onto another alt. "Hey it's me again." Then he said the worst thing of all. He asked if we could have ***. That is a threee letter word that you can guess I am sure. I told him I was a guy. So then he gets his "sister" to harass me and ask the same things but I think it was still him pretending to be a girl now.
My questions is this. Should I have reported him and if so is that bannable or punishable? It was so disturbing that I deleted my level 1 paladin named Dora (with an alt code because Dora was taken by an alt that was never used). It happened to a guildy of mine who is a girl. Just happened really recently so I decided to come here and ask if that can be reported and what can I expect to happen from it.
Here is my story about the girl guildy of mine. Shes my friend. A guy heard her on vent and started to harass her. I told her that a name change would help. She did that. Well apparently, name changes still keep you on their friends list. He kept stalking her. She eventually freaked out in guild chat and he was guild kicked after he called her multiple bad names. Ok so heres the wierd part. The guy knows I'm friends with her and starts psting me. Over and over. Some of my guildies also claim to have gotten psts. It was mainly him saying how she was lieing and how he was a good guy. Telling me that no one liked him and almost making me feel bad for him. I did not put him on ignore. Others who did that got harrased big time in trade chat by his lies.
TL;DR Can I report cases like this and actually have it stop? Like having the GMs take action that would somehow end it such as a ban. I also have two suggestions. Name changes should have the option to remove us from friends lists. She did that to get away from this guy and it didn't work. My second suggestion is that ignores should be account wide.
Problem with my fem toon happend on Alliance side. Problem with male toon happened on horde. I needed to say that so that people wont post here saying alliance are immature and that is why I was pst that.
P.S. The last lady toon I made, I typed in /dnd I'm a guy. So when they pst me it will say that I am busy and will send them that message. Last experience was too creepy to want a repeat. That has only happened once to me with all of my lady toons but that was still really akward to the point where I did not even respond for a long time to him until I said i was a guy. I just preteneded I wasn;t there.
Heya Rekttar,
▲▲ As Eilethalua, mentioned above, definitely report this player anytime and every time he does it via a in game petition or email to [email protected]. We will take action, even though we may not give you details of what exact action we take. Just keep reporting the player eventually they will get the point and stop, or they will lose their account if not. As for the account wide ignore feature, you can post this in the general discussion forums and leave your feedback there, since our developers do not read this forum. |
