They are pure torture. The sheer number of people botting is increasing for every day, and I understand them well. The more people that bots, the more dreadful it becomes to actually play the game and more people take the easy way, they bot.
It's virtually risk free. The chances of getting banned are so tiny, they are not a factor at all.
Your report-system is utterly useless, the bots people use these days follow set paths and attack and heal on their own. There is no way to get a bot kicked from the BG, no matter what.
Then there is the option of reporting the bots to a GM. Which is a joke. I don't see why you even attempt to act like you do anything about it, because no matter how much evidence there is of a guy botting, you never reacts.
Again, botting is risk-free and it's the only way to get the enormous amounts of honor required, specially when you play Alliance and 4 of 5 games outside of AV is a loss, which gives you around 60-70 honor for a 25 minutes of work.
I will soon swallow my pride myself and get myself one of these bots, because when you, the creators and people behind the game clearly don't give a *!%*, why should I?
Reply from Vaneras, Blizzard community-manager:
As somebody else has pointed out, we recently stated that we are improving our methods for detecting and dealing with players who are either botting or consistently AFKing in the Battlegrounds. We will take severe action against said players, which includes suspensions and bans, and of course the removal of any and all ill-gotten items and honour points.
We’re in the process of stepping up our detection and tracking to log and action players that are botting, or habitually AFKing in the Battlegrounds. We’ll be taking aggressive action and removing earned items, Honor Points, and ultimately suspending or even banning accounts of those that are found to be botting or habitually AFKing. It’s a sophisticated level of monitoring we’re undertaking. No one actively playing in the Battlegrounds normally should be concerned that they’ll be actioned.

Lets hope the fix they are talking about will work.
