I am sick of heroic leap.

Cannot use that here.

Out of range.............when the targeting circle was green!

Oh and the fact that if I'm cc'ed at all(cause ya, that doesn't happen a billion times a second during PvP), I will lose the targeting circle, and cant prep it for once I get out of CC.

Heroic leap is NOT a reliable mobility ability. Its garbage, complete garbage. And the most insulting thing I've heard, straight from the CM's on this forum is "report when and where you got the error".

yes, cause in the heat of battle, I'm going to stop what I'm doing jot down exact details of exactly where I was standing and where I tried to jump to. And like I trust blizzard to actually do anything about it. And even if they did, that's 1 down and a billion more places to fix. Which would probably be your rational for not fixing it anyway "fixing one place wont make a dent in the number of places that exist, so, were just gana leave it the way it is".

The problem is the garbage mechanics and your paranoia that somehow, somewhere, someone will find an exploit to down some raid boss with ease by using heroic leap to get up somewhere or some cop out reason like that. And thats why you wont make the mechanics more liberal in allowing me to jump places. Because, oh yes, silly me. Why would I ever think that I could JUMP over a gap, using HEROIC LEAP. Perfect sense.

But all warriors shall use and love heroic leap, and it is a perfect ability and the answer to all of our mobility problems, so saith the spectral crab.

I would be that CM. Hi!

I think you might have misunderstood my intent when I made that post. The reason I asked for that specific information is that it can be difficult to reproduce the kind of issues that players have expressed regarding Heroic Leap. So, the more detailed the reports are, the more accurately we can hone in on the issue.

If you'd like to help, please create detailed reports in the Bug Reports forum on the subject, or contribute to an existing thread. You can find the appropriate forum for these reports over here:

Here's a long and complicated way to see where heroic leap fails:

1.Go to a battleground
2.Press the corresponding key for heroic leap
3.Choose ANY piece of terrain that is has a slope
4.Note location where heroic leap just failed

Can you tell from the preceding sarcasm how this implies QA has done no actually testing on heroic leap?

Perhaps I should elaborate further. Heroic Leap should work on flat surfaces, and in a great many places, actually. We've had players telling us that it fails constantly, but without providing more specific information regarding where and how; hence the requests for more reports. There are very specific situations where we have purposefully stopped it from functioning to help prevent exploitation, which I've covered in more detail below.

Plus it causes tons of exploit issues, due to the elevation of the leap.

Exploitation was indeed a concern, and some of the Heroic Leap failures you’ve seen might be because of the restrictions we put in place to prevent exploitation. If you’re in an area where flying is restricted (like a Battleground) and your leap would cause you to gain more than about 4 yards of altitude, then the spell should fail -- though the cooldown shouldn’t be wasted. It should otherwise generally work on flat terrain and succeed much more often outdoors.

It wasn’t an ideal solution, but we added this limitation because players were able to use the targeted jump to exploit terrain to reach inaccessible areas or even leave the map. This wasn’t a knee-jerk reaction either; we received literally hundreds of documented cases where warriors could exploit the ability. The short term alternatives, such as disabling it in Battlegrounds completely, felt worse. Ultimately, we want to remove the height restriction in Battlegrounds and other restricted areas when we have a more robust technical solution.

Invisible walls around the perimeter of the BG, and one way walls for ledges (so you can fall off, but not jump up).

It's not that simple, though it would be nice if it were.
