Basically I had to defend my class against 2 people today who were QQing about how 'overpowered' discipline priests apparently are. One of them had just faced me in a duel, the other really did not know he was talking about (unless of course, priests have 40k shields and Inner Focus makes us immune to stuns).
What I would like then is a bunch of actual, well-thought-out reasons why disc priests are 'overpowered'. I have heard so much senseless, mindless QQ on the subject without anyone making any real sense at all, and I personally cannot see anything which actually puts us ahead of the other healers. To me the QQ surrounding discs is all because we can't be brought from 100%-0% in 10 seconds without interrupts like we could before.
With that in mind, please give me reasons why disc is overpowered, and understand what that word means. It means we are more powerful than the other 3 healing classes. And just to pre-empt some silly responses:
- As discipline, Power Word: Shield absorbs on average 22k (I have about 2/3 vicious gear and vicious weapon). Not 40k.
- Priests run out of mana faster than the other healers. If you are complaining because you couldnt run a priest oom, then the issue is that you are exerting much less pressure on the enemy team.
- Mana Burn is not overpowered in any way, because with a 2.5 sec cast you need to be drunk in order not to be able to LoS it, ground it, interrupt it, transform (druids), or anything else you might have.
I await the QQ-fest.
