New Player Tips is a recurring feature in which we ask World of Warcraft veterans to share their thoughts and advice for new adventurers on a variety of in-game topics. This week's topic is: "Building solid guild foundations." Guild leaders and officers canvas the guild recruitment forums and in-game chat channels every day, looking for new prospects to fill their ranks. These natural-born leaders craft carefully worded advertisements, enticing new recruits with tantalizing depictions of their enormous guild level, overflowing bank slots, stylish tabards, and cutting-edge style of play, all in the hopes of finding the right players. Some guilds flourish and thrive while others wither and fracture. Success or failure ultimately comes down to how you lay a guild's foundation. The question then becomes, how do you build that foundation and put together a guild that will stand the test of time? As part of our ongoing New Player Tips feature, we want to know what tips and advice you can offer to prospective guild leaders. What works for you? *Already have a guild but need some additional advice? Visit the Raid and Guild Leadership forum. |
