With Friends Like These

We've made it easier than ever for World of Warcraft players to connect with their fellow adventurers. With a few clicks you can hook up with your friends to always stay in touch, regardless of which realm they’re playing on. Real ID even enables you to chat with your friends while they’re playing StarCraft II!

To begin adding friends, click on the ‘Social’ button located in the top left corner of your chat window to access your Friends List and then select ‘Add Friend’ on the lower left. This will bring up a separate ‘Add a Friend’ window through which you will be able to add both Real ID and World of Warcraft friends. You can also access your Friends List by pressing the default hotkey “O”.

Real ID Friends
To add a Real ID friend, simply enter your friend's Battle.net email address in the designated field and then click ‘Add Friend’. This will send a Real ID Friend Request to the specified account. Once the recipient account adds you as a Real ID friend in turn, his or her registered name will appear in your Friends List.

World of Warcraft Friends
Anywhere within World of Warcraft it is easy to add other characters to your Friends List. To do so, simply open the ‘Add Friends’ window through your Friends List and type the name of the character you want to add. No confirmation is needed. In the event that you have both Real ID and World of Warcraft friends, these friends will be organized by their respective friend type.
