Valor /JP points.. wait a second... WHAT??

blizz -> wysłany:
So I found the vendors finally... and noticed that Justice point gear is all BLUE. and Valor gear is the purple gear.

and I looked it up on wowhead and it says that You can only get 75 Valor points once a day doing the Daily heroic dungeon, all other heroic dungeons give Justice points (towards the blue gear)

the only other way for me to get valor points is by doing the 10/25 man raids.

this is a clear nerf to people who just want to grind 5 mans.

before i get flammed out and trolled by ignorant comments of people who have lots of free time, realize this.

SOME OF US don't like to raid, can't commit to a raid schedule, and also don't like the process that some of the elitist guilds put in place to gain entry into a guild, and some of us also play on servers that don't have that big of a population anymore.

This is why the 5 man system gaining points is good for casual players.

But now it looks like we can only get Blue gear??

can someone confirm this? because if this is true, i don't even see any point in playing then, they've taken away our gear progression entirely

purples>blues

*EDIT*

I want to make an Edit to my post and say i think a few people have informed me that soon it will be changed over once the next season comes out, and we can buy tier 11 with Justice points.

And i'm fine with waiting for that to happen ;). I initially got upset because i had to take a step back and think.. wait a second.. all of my work in heroic dungeons and all i'm getting rewarded with is this? but as long as in the future we can get some sort of Epics i'm happy with that.

12/10/2010 9:31 AMPosted by BreynaThis was the same as with Triumph/Frost in Wrath. You'd get your two frost a day doing the daily heroic and after that, it's all triumph.

What this cool shelf said.
blizz -> wysłany:
If this is coming from a sense of blue<purple then it's something that you should get used to. Epics are intentionally more epic again, they're not thrown at you as soon as you walk in the door like in Wrath. And, because of that, you're going to need to equip what you can to progress.

Could you speak a bit on the topic of what the intended role of JP is, right now?

To be the lower currency, that's always its role.

Right now it's giving you heroic blues, valor is giving raid epics, when the next tier hits JP will buy those old raid epics (as well as the heroic blues), and valor will buy the new hotness.

It's exactly the same as Frost/Triumph except instead of introducing a new currency each time and making it a confusing mess it's the same two currencies (Valor and Justice Points) and they simply rotate down once there's something new.

Will valor points transfer over in tier or will we get a valor wipe every new tier? Would be unfair to the people still gearing up to have to stop for 3 weeks to get 4k while other guilds maxed it out ages ago due to lack of valor gear that is useful to them. I don't see it being the case for many guilds but I expect to see a lot of people sitting at 4k valor prior to the patch and then getting all that om nom epic gear for the new tier

At the release of a new tier all Valor points are converted to JP. It's in effect the same, as I said, as Frost/Triumph. Valor becomes, essentially, a new currency with each tier. JP continually collects the old items and points as it moves along.

Will the 4k cap ever be lifted? And if not, will there be a softcap for a period of time, or will we simply get a big chunk of gold if we go above 4k with this down conversion?

That's a great question because I don't know. Heh. I believe that it would likely be a softcap that would convert above the cap (converts at 1:1) and you'd need to spend down below the cap before you can earn any more. That's my assumption, I'll need to find out. But we do have a ways to go before that's going to happen. :)

Since my posts within this thread have not only been all encompassing, answered all questions without a doubt, but also did so with a certain flair and style that has quite frankly impressed everyone who has laid eyes upon them, I am now locking this thread*.

I may take a nap. Making something this amazing really takes it out of you.
