Shadowlands Content Update Notes

blizz -> wysłany:

Shadowlands is live!

Sylvanas Windrunner, fallen leader of the Horde, has pierced the veil between Azeroth and the realm of the dead, setting in motion a series of events that threaten to upset the cosmic balance between life and death. Azeroth’s heroes will confront the wonders and horrors of the afterlife as they deal with the consequences of Sylvanas’ actions.

New updates are highlighted in gold.

Head over to Orgrimmar or Stormwind to begin your journey into the Shadowlands and experience the new content the expansion has to offer, including:

New Level Cap: 60

The level cap has been increased by 10 levels. Learn new effects that enhance key abilities for your class as you make your way towards level 60.

Five New Zones

Bastion

When first arriving in Bastion, you’ll be greeted by elysian vistas, resplendent skies, gleaming spires, and ethereal sights. This paradisiacal realm is inhabited by the steadfast Kyrian, who safeguard mortal souls as they pass into the Shadowlands. [LEARN MORE]

Maldraxxus

Within war-torn Maldraxxus, might—of all kinds—makes right. Here, in the birthplace of necromantic magic, those who master the powers of death turn legions of ambitious souls into relentless immortal armies. [LEARN MORE]

Ardenweald

A twilight-tinged afterlife for those closely connected to the wild, Ardenweald is a domain of restoration tended by the mystic night fae. Within this eternal forest, massive dream trees draw in precious anima—the essence of souls that flows through the Shadowlands—to feed the spirits of nature awaiting rebirth into the cycle. [LEARN MORE]

Revendreth

Revendreth is made up of seven distinct districts, each presided over by a Harvester — powerful Venthyr who have upheld the ways of this place since creation to encourage spirits to repent for their past sins. Those who are successfully reformed are presented with a choice: Return to Oribos to be sent on to another afterlife, or remain in Revendreth and become one of the Venthyr. As for those who resist redemption? They’re banished to the Maw. [LEARN MORE]

The Maw

To be cast into the Maw is to be doomed to a bleak eternity. In this tumultuous, hopeless land, the vilest souls in the cosmos are imprisoned and tormented forever. Should the ancient evil chained here break free, all of reality will be consumed. [LEARN MORE]

Eight New Dungeons

There are four dungeons available as you adventure through the new zones on your way towards the max level 60.

The Necrotic Wake (Level 51+)

In an unthinkable act of treachery, forces from Maldraxxus, the realm charged with defending the Shadowlands, have invaded the Temple of Courage. They have pillaged anima and taken slaughtered kyrian to fuel their dark practices. If left unchecked, the necrotic forces of the necropolis Zolramas will pillage Bastion leaving destruction in their wake.

Plaguefall (Level 53+)

Underneath the ruined House of Plagues, lies one of the most destructive forces Maldraxxus has ever known. Those who covet this power search the plague-ridden debris in a race to claim this weapon for themselves. Whoever captures this prize will hold the fate of the Shadowlands in their clutches.

Mists of Tirna Scithe (Level 55+)

The lush grove called Tirna Scithe has ever been diligently protected by the fae folk, for it is a sacred place said to hold ancient secrets. Legends warn that an unwary traveler might find themselves lost for an eternity wandering its countless mist-shrouded paths. But as drought depletes the forests of Ardenweald, enemies seek to plunder the grove’s potent magic. Even the realm’s native denizens are driven by hunger and desperation to consume that which the Winter Queen holds most dear.

Halls of Atonement (Level 57+)

Under the Accuser, the Halls of Atonement were a tribute to Revendreth's mission. While the halls rang with suffering and sin, it was all directed to redeeming the souls and keeping them from falling into the Maw. But the recently promoted Lord Chamberlain has bent the hall's purpose to selfish reaping of anima, often to the point of leaving the souls unable to be redeemed. Someone will have to put an end to the depravity that has grown within these walls.

Upon reaching level 60, four more dungeons will become available for you to explore and earn the treasures that they hold.

Theater of Pain

In Maldraxxus you must constantly be tested and measured as the best to defend the Shadowlands. The best place to prove yourself is the Theater of Pain. Throngs of contenders face off for the hope of facing one of the champions. Brutality! Mayhem! Violence! And of course Pain! Only the strongest become champions of their house, and only one can be the strongest.

De Other Side

Bwonsamdi has kept a secret place in the Shadowlands he refers to as De Other Side. When the dead started funneling into the Maw, Bwansamdi hid several souls in his little domain, keeping his troll followers safe. But this broke an old deal with Mueh'zala and now the ancient loa has come to harvest those souls and destroy their caretaker. Bwonsamdi will need help collecting on some of his other dealings if he is to survive this onslaught and protect the souls within.

Spires of Ascension

Floating among the clouds and representing the pinnacle of kyrian ideals, the Spires of Ascension is the Archon’s seat of power. Unquestioned and unchallenged for countless eons, the ruler of Bastion has always embodied the virtues of duty and service. But with drought and instability causing fractures in the belief system of the Ascended, the Archon’s reign faces an unimaginable peril as one of her most trusted followers falls under the sway of the darkest of evils.

Sanguine Depths

Far below Castle Nathria lies the Sanguine Depths, a prison created to house Sire Denathrius's most intriguing dissidents. Prisoners here are kept for eons, drained of their anima for research and study. The Sinfall resistance knows of a particular prisoner here that could help tip the balance of their fight with Sire Denathrius to their favor, and have asked for assistance in extracting them.

Castle Nathria Raid

Infiltrate the iron-barred walls of Castle Nathria, a 10-boss raid located in the shadowy realm of Revendreth. Face off against unfathomable horrors in a race to uncover a sinister plot and save these lands from a dark and twisted future. [LEARN MORE]

Torghast, Tower of the Damned

At the heart of the Maw lies Torghast, Tower of the Damned, a cursed otherworldly prison where the wickedest souls in the universe are locked away. Highly replayable and inspired by roguelike games, heroes are invited to explore its ever-changing halls and chambers and do battle with the minions of the Jailer, Torghast’s vile ruler. Those who brave its trials can claim legendary treasures and help free the heroic spirits wrongfully trapped within. [LEARN MORE]

As you level up on your initial journey through each of their domains, you’ll get to experience these abilities firsthand—before you ultimately choose the Covenant you wish to dedicate yourself to. [LEARN MORE]

Renown

As you progress through your Covenant’s story, you’ll build Renown and increase the amount of trust your character has earned within the Covenant. Renown is earned by performing worthy actions through the Covenant Campaign, returning Anima to the Sanctum, and by rescuing souls from the Maw. If you fall behind or are leveling an alternate character, you’ll be able to earn additional Renown from endgame activities such as dungeons, raids, PvP, and Callings until you’ve reached the current maximum.

Increasing your Renown will grant specific rewards at each Renown Level, including:

  • Unlocking a new row of power for a Soulbind character.
  • Increasing the item level of items you receive from World Quests.
  • Earning legendary recipes for the Runecarver in Torghast.
  • Earning unique Covenant-themed cosmetic items such as mounts, pets, a title, back attachment transmog, and transmog armor.

Soulbinds

During your travels in the Shadowlands, you’ll meet key members from each Covenant and, if you choose to walk in their path, you’ll be able to Soulbind with them. Soulbinding allows you to gain access to traits that provide bonuses or enhance your skills so you can effectively combat all who stand in your way. [LEARN MORE]

Conduits

Conduits are a new type of item that players can obtain and socket into Soulbind trees to enhance their class and Covenant abilities while bound with that character. There are three types of Conduits: Potency (damage/healing), Endurance (survivability), and Finesse (utility).

Adventures

Once you’ve joined your chosen Covenant, you’ll be able to begin undertaking Adventures from the dedicated table within your Sanctum. Through the interface, you’ll be able to view available Adventures, the associated rewards, the cost to undertake them, the state of your units, and how challenging the enemies are within that Adventure. You’ll want to choose a solid mix from your Adventurers, Soulbinds, and troops to create a party of up to 5 units to deal with the various threats.

You’ll also be able to check in on and continue your Adventures offline with the WoW Companion App. [LEARN MORE]

Empyrean Domain Arena

Battle head to head against other players in the Empyrean Domain arena, the sparring grounds for Aspirants and Ascended.

PvP Vendors Return

Engage in rated PvP to earn Conquest points to spend on specific PvP items of your choosing at the PvP Vendor in Oribos. Additionally, you can use Conquest points to upgrade that gear even further, making them more powerful than before.

Runecarving Legendary Items System

In the Shadowlands, you’ll be able to create your own Legendary armor within the Runecarver’s Oubliette, a place of exceptional power locked away in Torghast. To craft Legendary armor, you’ll first need to retrieve specific memories that contain Legendary powers. These memories can be found all over Shadowlands – from questing, running dungeons with friends, fighting against the enemy faction, or defeating powerful foes in Castle Nathria and the Maw, there will be plenty of work for the bravest of champions to do in order to collect them all. Once found, players can take these memories back to the Runecarver in Torghast, who will then be able to imbue specific Profession-crafted armor pieces with this power. [LEARN MORE]

Customizable Crafting

Optional Reagents are a new feature in Shadowlands that allow players to have greater control over the equipment they create. Optional Reagents come in two varieties:

  • Crafter's Marks are used to modify the item level of a crafted piece and are an untradable item crafted by any Profession that uses them.
  • Missives allow the crafter to choose which secondary stats the item will have. Missives are a tradable item created with the Inscription profession and can be bought and sold on the Auction House.

New mounts, pets, achievements, transmog gear, and more!

Death Rising – Limited Time Event

Shortly after the pre-expansion launch, you’ll be called upon to defend Azeroth from an undead invasion as the Scourge sweep across the land. Players will embark on a quest to establish a foothold in Icecrown, where the barrier between Azeroth and the afterlife has been shattered, and prepare for the coming journey into the Shadowlands. This limited time pre-expansion event will only be available until the launch of Shadowlands, so make sure to log in to experience it and earn special rewards.

Levels, Items and Stats Adjusted

Levels, items and stats have been adjusted to make reaching a new level feel more meaningful while simultaneously making the leveling experience faster than before. Characters at level 120 will become level 50 after the content update.

New Character Customization

The character creation experience has been revitalized with a brand new user interface and many new character customization options to choose from. Some of the new options are selecting your eye color, new skin tones, new hairstyles and hair/fur colors.

All of these new options are available at Barber Shops throughout Azeroth, including the option for Druids to choose the appearance of their shapeshifting forms and the ability to swap genders. Now all customization is available in game at any time so the Appearance Change service will no longer be sold in the Shop. [LEARN MORE]

New Starting Experience

Exile's Reach

Exile's Reach is an all-new starting experience that will take you on an excursion that will introduce you to the fundamentals of playing World of Warcraft and the important mechanics for your chosen class. If you’re new to World of Warcraft and have never created or leveled a character, you will automatically begin your journey into Azeroth with the starting experience. If you’re a veteran player or you’ve leveled a character before, you can choose to opt out of the starting experience and begin instead at level 1 in the starting area for your race.

Upon reaching level 10, new players will continue their journey through Battle for Azeroth and into Shadowlands. [LEARN MORE]

Timewalking Campaigns

Players who have already experienced Battle for Azeroth and reached level 50 on at least one character can now choose to level any subsequent characters in a different expansion using Timewalking Campaigns. This new feature allows content from locations like Northrend or Pandaria to scale to a player’s level, so they can adventure from level 10 all the way to 50 and experience the stories of these areas at their originally intended pacing. Visit Chromie near the embassies in Stormwind or Orgrimmar to select your expansion leveling experience. If you'd like to select a different expansion to level through, simply speak to Chromie again.

Newcomer Chat

After creating your character and beginning your journey into World of Warcraft for the first time, you will enter the Newcomer Chat channel where you can chat with other new players and experienced players on the same faction who will be your guides as you level through the new starting zone – Exile's Reach. New players and guides will be able to recognize one another in the chat channels and with icons above their characters' heads that only they can see. Upon reaching level 20, new players will be prepared to continue their journey ahead on their own and will no longer have access to the Newcomer Chat.

If you're a veteran player and are interested in guiding new players as they experience World of Warcraft for the first time, head over to Stormwind Embassy or Orgrimmar Embassy and speak to the guide recruiter once you've met the following criteria:

  • Have an account in good standing
  • Reach level 50
  • Complete 3000 quests
  • Earn at least two of the following achievements: Terrific Trio, Rival: Battle for Azeroth Season Four, Battle for Azeroth Keystone Conqueror: Season Four, The Waking Dream or We Have the Technology.

If you no longer wish to be a guide, you can speak to the guide recruiter once again.
