Account silenced again...

blizz -> wysłany:
So i got silenced again, and i know what i said that got me in trouble this time.

My personal opinion won't change about the things that i say, but i do understand that we need to keep this game more friendly to more players.

What i wanted to offer and discuss here is potentially a different way to go about punishing people who may get mouthy from time to time (like me :D).

I read that they recently changed the policy from a doubling of silence duration to an eventual ban. I do not want to be banned just because i "pop off" and say something that to me seems silly and ridiculous, but to someone else seems terrifying.

I would much rather have a permanent silence than be banned.

It would also be quite nice to be notified when i receive a "report" from someone to help keep it on my mind. Not all of us are as sensitive as some, and we forget that some of the things that we joke about are taken seriously by others.

The idea of a punishment is not what you would want. If you'd prefer one over the other then that doesn't mean you're really taking the hint that what you're doing isn't okay.

My suggestion here is to just not make the joke in a public chat. You're free to say what you want in private chats as long as the person in charge of that chat thinks its okay. (Someone like a Guild Master for example)

It's very simple and the rules are extremely forgiving compared to what they used to be back in the day.

No, nothing has changed. The silence penalties still double every time you earn one, and there is no upper limit. It doesn't take long for the duration to increase to a point that it is essentially permanent.

And, same as always, if you say something particularly egregious, they do still have the option of just banning the account outright.

TL;DR - Working as intended.

Seriously, it's not hard to not get silenced.

+1 to what this poster said here. It's actually very hard to get silenced, you literally have to go out of your way and put in the effort to get it.
