The Arena World Championship Summer season continues this weekend on Twitch with the North American Cup Qualifier #1. We’ve got all the information you need on where to watch and which teams to keep an eye on this weekend. Venruki’s Top 5 Teams to WatchAt the start of Spring we asked former Arena World Champion Venruki to give us his top picks for the year. With the Summer season before us, we asked him to revisit his leaderboard and update us on who he thought were the big North American rosters to watch. 1) – Noble Formerly “The Rejects”, this roster went from strength to strength in Spring growing in performance each tournament culminating in a second place finish at the Spring Finals. For Summer they’ve added Gorecki to the line-up focusing on the damage specialization for the first time. Venruki notes it’s no secret that Gorecki is Jahmilli’s #1 preferred partner, and his addition will add even more flexibility and motivation to a roster that was already challenging Europe for the top spot. 2) – Method Orange Method Orange finished first in online competition in Spring but fell short at the live finals. They add Samiyam to the roster, from the formerly famed ‘Super Team’ Method Black. Orange found success online in Spring utilizing Mes and Trill as melee experts, and Venruki thinks the addition of Samiyam brings some much-needed caster diversity with his mage, warlock, and moonkin play. 3) – The Move Another roster of well-known players, The Move feature four players who are at the top of their class, and quite frankly top of the ladder also. They narrowly missed out on qualification to the Spring Finals which Venruki puts down to them not having the right compositions. They’ve been working on that, and Wizk has been putting hours into his death knight to provide some melee cleave options for the team. Such high-quality players on more meta compositions could easily be The Move they were looking for. 4) – Super Rejects The only newly forged roster to reach Venruki’s top 5, Super Rejects feature players from former Splyce and various Method rosters. Envious is a newer face, but is considered by many the best Holy priest in the world. He will combine with Thuganomics and Smexxin to make a lethal Destro warlock – Elemental composition. Venruki was incredibly impressed by this teams work ethic, as they’ve apparently been practicing the hardest of any team. Their determination to win will make them a scary team to fight. 5) – Super Frogs Super Frogs caught many teams off guard at the Spring Finals with their odd-ball rogue warlock whaman composition, leading to some Europe players calling “Chanimals” the best warlock in the game. Considering he didn’t play a single game in online qualification, the former BlizzCon champion had no issue making a statement that he is here to stay. Venruki notes the roster suffered from a weird dynamic in Spring of having 2 top-quality mages on the roster, but now they’ve cleaned up and brought in Chunli as a melee specialist to give us the full roster Super Frogs always promised to be.
