The WoW Arena Championship World Cup #3 North America Qualifier takes place this weekend and will be broadcast live on Twitch beginning at 10:00 a.m. PST Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11. We are down to the final 8 and only the top 4 teams who have earned the most points from Europe and North America will qualify for the Spring Finals. Not only is a $100,000 prize pool at stake in the Spring Finals, but the team who is crowned Champion of the Spring Season will qualify for the World Championship at the end of the year. Casters Elliott “Venruki” Venczel, Sid “Supatease” Compston, Mohammed “Ziqo” Beshir, and Josh “Xaryu” Lujan will be on hand to keep you on top of all the exciting 3v3 arena action. The Teams to WatchWith Method Orange and Super Frogs already guaranteed to qualify for the final four, the last two available spots for the Spring Final are highly contested. We’ve got our eyes set on two teams who may just have what it takes to claim those spots: Method Black and The Rejects. Sitting as the current first place point earners, Method Orange, consisting of Cdew, Mes, and Trill, have accumulated a healthy amount of points in Cups 1 and 2 and have earned a guaranteed spot at the Spring LAN. Surprisingly, Method Orange find themselves in the lower bracket after being knocked down by team Tilted, another veteran team that competed at BlizzCon 2017 under the banner of Splyce. Both Method Black and The Rejects are behind The Move in point standings, but after The Move finished in 9th place, they were eliminated from the running with just 192 points. Both teams will need the right moves– and points– to slip past them though. Method Black is just behind The Move with 140 points and must earn at least 60 points to overcome them. This means they’ll need a 4th place finish or higher this weekend. The Rejects entered the tournament even further behind in the point standings, but have been coming on strong putting them in the top 6 and within striking distance of that top four spot. They are currently sitting at 120 points and are 72 points behind The Move. With their placement in the upper bracket, they’ll need to win at least one series to lock in a 3rd place finish and move on. Within the current top 6, Tilted is up against Sneakier Snakes. Both teams haven’t accumulated nearly enough points to land an easy qualification within the top 4 and will both need a first-place finish to qualify for the Spring Finals. Either team could surprise everyone and take the whole tournament. This would cause a ripple effect and force teams like The Rejects and Method Black to not only surpass The Move’s points, but also each other to qualify. While these teams seem to be at the top of their game and top four bound, there are still newcomers in the bracket who hungry to prove themselves and could qualify with a 1st place finish. These two spots are highly contested in the final matches this weekend and things are bound to heat up between the newer competitors and the tournament veterans. You won’t want to miss a moment!
