Venruki and Ziqo’s North America Cup #1 MVPWe caught up with our analysts Venruki and Ziqo, to decide on an MVP from the first North American Cup of the year. MVP: Kubzy – Super Frogs. While both Method teams played phenomenally well, it wasn’t quite enough to take down Super Kubzy. Traditionally known for his Restoration druid, Kubzy excelled on a Discipline priest throughout the tournament. Venruki notes that he stood out in the RMP mirrors against Method Black, and Kubzy was a big reason why his team leapfrogged into the number 1 seed. In the grand finals he stepped up again, bringing out his Restoration Shaman. He survived the onslaught of Mes and Trill’s Windwalker Monk and Death Knight—albeit barely—with good cooldown usage and kiting. This tournament he drew on everything in his repertoire as an all-around healer, and deserves being called MVP. Honorable mention: Trill – Method Orange. Method Orange came into the top 8 as the only 3-player roster, and with limited composition options compared to their opponents. Venruki ensured we highlighted their star Windwalker monk player ‘Trill’ who demonstrated you can overcome a lack of composition options with raw skill. “He had really good peels, and set up his burst really well – he never wasted his touch of death which is huge IMO” stated Venruki. Ziqo agreed with this pick, noting that especially in Method Orange’s series vs. ‘The Rejects’ Trill had a strong performance going toe to toe with Sethcurry. Honorable mention: Mageiden – Super Frogs. Ziqo is always on the hunt for Arcane Mage talent, and Mageiden impressed him throughout NA Cup #1. “Mageiden was able to put out tons of pressure in his games, and his Arcane Mage gameplay was really what brought the team wins,” said Ziqo, clearly impressed by the new addition to Super Frogs for this year. Mageiden featured in every game for Super Frogs throughout the tournament, and his ability to survive solo against Method Black was noted by Ziqo. Super Frogs’ roster this year could be one to shake up the Europe and North America balance in March. Where to Watch:English Stream - https://www.twitch.tv/warcraft Event Schedule
