Union

The Alliance sailor had TWO weapons.

The orc had none.

Apparantly it's Alliance nature to be sporting/sharing/uniting agaist a common foe... but you know what a true orc of the Horde would have done?

He would have LOPPED THE ALLY'S HEAD OFF, then use his DUEL WIELD skill to face the panda one-on-one. Would he have won? Who knows? But win or lose, he would have maintained his honor and SELF RESPECT.

It's a pride thing; something apparantly foreign to the Alliance races. I've seen the Pandarian intro quest when they join the Horde/Alliance. When they join the Horde, it's all pride/fighting/brotherhood/for the Horde. When they join the Alliance, the King cautions the panda that being Alliance is all about sacrifice.

It's sad, really.

If Alliance players want to be alphas one day, they need to start with themselves. If you want respect, you need to start with self respect. If you've been trying to murder some orc for the past days/weeks, mmmmaybe you shouldn't just hand him a bladed weapon at the first sign of trouble? Maybe it shows your heart just wasn't in it to begin with?

That's what the Horde has. Heart. Pride. Self respect.

We would have taken your head clean off, then skinned that panda or DIE TRYING. With honor.
I always wondered why the portal to Dragon Soul was in The Caverns of Time. It just... didn't make sense.

But then, I discovered why they did it. It was for player convenience.

You know what I wish? I wish the old gave developers were still working on the game. Simply put, they cared more. They respected the game, and they respected the player. They created a beautiful world from scratch, with care, and made it as magical as they could. They treated the lore with respect. They didn't just put portals to Thunder Bluff, Undercity and Silvermoon right next to the Org AH. You actually had to TRAVEL there. They thought up a Zeppelin. And made it solid, so you didn't fall through it. They put NPC's on it. See what I mean? They CARED.

You don't just click a button on your screen to repair all items. You have to talk to an NPC to do it. You don't just click a button on your UI to sell loot, you sell them to an NPC. You don't loot items called "Armour #453", it's called Titanic Shoulderguards of The Eredar"[/i] or something. And so on. See?

But here's how the conversation went with these new hires at Blizzard:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Okay, all done! We've finished Dragon Soul! All the bosses have been reskinned and renamed, all the locations have been successfully copied and pasted; we're done!"

"Wait, Bob. We haven't put up an Entrance Portal, yet."

"LOL WHO CARES, dude? Most players will just teleport there through LFR!"

"Welll... no, Bob. The normal raiders will still have to travel there."

"AAW, WEAK, dude! Okay, okay... let's... um... we'll put in the Caverns of Time!"

"What? Why?"

"DUDE, we just finished putting the End Time 5-man portals there. We'll just put DS next to them!"

"But they were actually in different times, so it made sense. Putting DS there doesn;t make sense at all."

"DUDE, it's just more CONVENIENT, okay? For us AND the players!"

"But it doesn't make sense, Bob. The last guy who sat in your chair... he put the entrance to BWL and Molten Core in Blackrock Mountain. He put the entrance to AQ in Silithus. He put the entrance to Naxxramas near the Undercity. He put the entrance to Ulduar at the front door of Ulduar. He put the entrance to ICC at Icecrown Citadel. He put the entrance to BoT at The Bastion of Twilight. He put the entrance to Firelands at the front of Sulfuron Spire. See the pattern here, Bob? You can't just throw the entrance to a raid just anywhere in the world. That's silly, and a tad disrespectful to the world we created, and the players who dwell in it."

"DUDE WHO CARES, IT'S JUST A GAME LOL!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that was that.

But they may as well have just put the DS entrance portal in Org & Stormwind. Or just forget portals and flying mounts entirely, and just put a button in your UI to teleport to anywhere in Azeroth. Why not? If you're going to break immersion for the sake of convenience, just go all the way.

There have been many changes to World of Warcraft since Vanilla. Some good, some bad, many great. But each change was made with respect. But this is the very first time Blizzard has made actual alterations to the WoW world that utterly breaks player immersion for the sake of convenience.

And that's sad.

EDIT: I remember the first time I saw Naxxramas, hovering overhead. I remember the first time I saw Black Temple off in the distance. I remember, the first time I saw I Icecrown Citadel. Blizzard didn't HAVE to create those places. They weren't necessary to the RAID INSTANCES. They were just CG architecture models in the open world. But they did anyway. And it was wonderful. But now we have Bob. He wouldn't have created any of those. He would have just put a portal to BT somewhere in Shattrath. With BoB, the Icecrown zone would just be empty lands with quest hubs. Sad. So very sad...

Don't EVER lie to me again, Blizzard.” wysłany:
> Visit forums during maintenenace.

It’s a busy day for Battle.net!

Due to high volume of traffic, we’ve taken our World of Warcraft and Starcraft II Community sites offline to allow as many users as possible to claim keys, upgrade accounts and manage subscriptions.

As soon as website load is back to normal we’ll open these sites again.

Do not EVER lie to me like that again, Blizzard.

It's down for the weekly maintenence. It is NOT due to a high volume of traffic. That is a lie. A flagrant, outright lie. The maintenance happened on the hour, as it always does, and we've long gotten used to that. To suddenly slap up a website that says "well no, it's actually due to a sudden flood of visitors greater than during the launch of Cataclysm, since back then the forums work fine! It's not the weekly maintenance, it's just a coincidence that it wemt down at exactly the same time!" is an absolutely disgusting lie.

"LOL UMAD JELLY QQ LOL TL;DR UMAD LOL?"

Yes. Yes, I am very mad. Tweak the game any way you like, Blizzard. It's your game, your right. But do not, DO NOT, DO NOT ever *LIE* to me like that again.

Blues, feel free to say I'm mistaken. Tell me it was honestly due to high traffic.

Greens, say I'm mistaken, and it was all an amazing coincidence and the forums were linked somewhere and we got so many millions of views the bandwidth shut everything down.

SAY I'M WRONG. SAY "LIE" IS THE WRONG WORD.

Or agree with me that the webpage put up to cover the forums (which, by the way, had the web address http://us.battle.net/en/maintenance/) outright lied to me and to everyone who viewed it. The forums were NOT down due to " high volume of traffic". That statement was outright and blatant LIE.

I'm trying to be civil and respectful, but this is the first time in my entire history with Blizzard as a company when they have lied openly and blatantly to my face. It was disrespectful, patronising and quite simply disgusting behaviour.

Yes, "bro"; I am very, VERY mad.
