Well, I never thought I’d quit this game… for THIS reason.
I’ve been playing since the day the game came out… I remember my first toon; a hunter, naturally. I’ve been in about four different raiding guilds, a couple of them for extended time, and a couple of them for a relatively short amount of time. Two of which were five/six day raiding guilds.
But anyway, that’s me. The woman who would later become my wife started playing because of me about four years ago. She took her authenticator off recently (for spring break) because she didn’t want to take it home with her from our apartment next to the university we study at. Namely, because she usually loses it when we travel. She had her account restored almost immediately (Excellent blizzard response time). The next day, I gave her the Tsunami deck I had been furiously trying to get made before the darkmoon faire departed from Goldshire. I gave it to her. We rejoiced. She didn’t log in again for two days (Raid day), and she… was banned. Apparently, she “bought gold,” which I know isn’t true. But seeing as there’s nothing I can do to prove otherwise other than just say, “Hey, she’s my fiancé, she didn’t buy gold, you can tell by her only having a 3 digit gold numer,” which is worthless.
So I’m qutting… not to go play Rift or any other fail wow ripoff, but to simply leave the MMO business forever. I’m sorry it had to end this way Blizzard… I always enjoyed playing WoW with you. Even when you put spirit on my rogue gear… or when Vashj was a new fight that I thought was impossible… when I was bored in WotLK, and we still managed to have a great time. There were good times, especially in Cataclysm, and I’m sorry that I’ll never get to enjoy all the new content you’ll be putting out in the upcoming months.
Thanks for the good times, I’m sorry for all the bad times, and I’ll see you… maybe when Diablo 3 comes out. :(
