It's not like most of us are being unreasonable. We understand that there should be SOME effort into "appearing" up again (I'm coining it, instead of gearing, going for appearance :D). What we're differing on is the definition of "some".

Going for months, even years to play lockout loot roulette for one or two pieces of gear, and quite honestly have a chance at it NEVER dropping is a very real possability. We're asking for an alternative. No more, no less. Lose some lockouts, give us some another line of tokens called "History Lessons" or something that we get per older raid boss that we can turn into a unique vendor for class specific loot, SOMETHING. Players understand how valuable these sets are, and probably would have less of an issue refarming pieces up if an end was in sight rathern than trusting a kindly RNG loot system that's rarely all that kindly. RNG should help you finish quicker, not be your sole method of maybe, possibly, one-day-when-the-stars-align finally finishing your set.

You boys at Blizzard are creative, and I'm sure you see yourselves the issue. If past history of the game has taught you anything, you're going to eventually give out a lot of sets for players who don't have the time or don't have the luck to get the gear they really, really want. You always start something fairly restrictive, but after a bit of time you loosen up. A lot of us would like to get that out of the way now rather than later, and meet in the middle on this one.

It'd be best if you did it when everything drops so it comes out nice and polished instead of enduring months of complaints over something that'll eventually happen anyway. I'm positive that we'd all rather be farming up our old sets rather than coming to the forums to complain about loot that never drops and months of back-to-back raid lockouts.
