Blizzard: Tone deaf or stubborn?” wysłany:
What's the single most universally reviled feature of WoD? The Garrisons, of course.
Well, guess what's back in Legion. Except now in addition to your permanent followers, you get to grow disposable cannon fodder like pot plants and send them to their deaths for the benefit of your wallet. Aren't we just the greatest heroes of the realm?

Seriously, though, why the hell is this still in the game?

Personally, this isn't even something I'm agitated over - I just don't understand it. People absolutely hated the follower system and they equally hated the shipyard, so why would Blizzard bother putting another system like it into the next expac?

The shipyard getting in, I kind of understand, since that whole part of 6.2 was probably in development before WoD even launched, or at least since long before people started getting vocal about their opinion of the followers. But a variation of the system getting into Legion? I can only think of 2 explanations for this. Either the devs are so utterly tone deaf that they don't realize how much the whole thing is hated, or they simply don't want to waste the effort that went into creating these systems

The latter seems more likely and is a tad understandable, but perpetuating a feature people don't like just to drag out the code's life cycle is still not good design.
