The "Legion" battle chest came with:
Classic
Burning Crusade
Wrath of the Lich King
Cataclysm
Mists of Pandaria
Warlords of Draenor - no level 90 boost included
It just didn't include the current expansion (Legion)
It was the price of a month's subscription on the website, and in fact included a free month of game time. I know this, I bought it for the US realms, and for this new account.
What you get with a World of Warcraft subscription now that we are in the BfA era:
Classic
Burning Crusade
Wrath of the Lich King
Cataclysm
Mists of Pandaria
Warlords of Draenor - no 90 boost
Legion - no 100 boost
And, obviously, a month of game time.
No additional data was downloaded when upgrading to the Battle Chest, and as far as I am aware - feel free to correct me if I'm misinformed - if a subscription expires, all of the starter edition restrictions come into play.
So... why exactly is everyone saying this is some kind of amazing idea when it's been happening since Cata, maybe Wrath?
