Why doesn't my laptop handle ultra settings?

blizz -> wysłany:
I purchased my laptop from Best buy and was told it should handle World of Warcraft, amongst other games, on ultra settings without breaking a sweat. I can play on fair settings like that (anywhere from 50-90fps) but on ultra I get about 6fps. I have even tried without any add-ons and still same result. Laptop information is as follows:

Model - Asus GL502VT-BSI7N27
CPU Intel Core i7 (6th Gen) 6700HQ / 2.6 GHz
Max Turbo Speed - 3.5 GHz
Number of Cores - Quad-Core
Memory Speed - 2133 MHz
DDR4 SDRAM
Installed RAM - 12 GB
Graphics Processor - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M - 3 GB
blizz -> wysłany:
Usually laptops have a discrete video card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M in this case) and an onboard video chip (typically Intel). I suggest setting your Nvidia card as the preferred graphics processor for World of Warcraft. To do that, open up the Nvidia control panel (right-click on your desktop and select the Nvidia Control Panel) and go to 'Manage 3D Setting'. In the settings window select the 'Program Settings' tab and select World of Warcraft from the dropdown menu (you may have to add it if you don't see the game on the list). Once you have World of Warcraft selected, look for 'CUDA - GPUs' and click where it says 'Use Global Settings'. From there, click the 'Use these GPUs' option and check the box next to the video card.
