Confusion behind rbg gear

The intention, as Trill quoted above, is that winning three Rated BG's awards a Strongbox with a guaranteed item in it. That system is currently not working, and so the Strongboxes aren't being awarded.

We're currently chasing down what is causing the issue, so we can fix it. Unfortunately, we will most likely not be able to retroactively award Strongboxes as part of this fix. We'll provide an update once we've traced down the issue and sorted out a fix.

I can't say for absolute certain until we've tracked down exactly what's causing the issue, but we believe that will be the case, yes.

It was working on the PTR, and in our internal testing, which is why it's a tricky issue to track down.

We've isolated the issue and have a working fix. However, due to the nature of the bug itself, the fix will not take effect until our next maintenance period.

To provide some additional detail on the fix: we've had to slightly restructure how the box is awarded. Once the fix is in place, you'll be automatically given a quest to win three Rated Battlegrounds when you enter one (unless you already have the quest, or have already completed it, of course).

This also has the benefit of making the process a lot more transparent to the player, so you can know for certain once the fix is live: if you're not getting the quest, it hasn't been fixed yet. You will need to make sure you have space in your quest log to receive the quest.

just so we're clear--you won't be getting a purple after 3 wins until next Tuesday (or earlier if Blizz decides on maintenance mid-week)?

To expand on this a little since I was obviously not clear enough here:

We've fixed the bug, but the fix will not take place until our next maintenance period (Tuesday in NA, Wednesday in EU). That means that no one will be able to earn the RBG box until the next Conquest reset.
