You know there was a lot hate on the forums about the twitter and selfie work in 6.1.
I was not big on it but understood that is because I am not a selfie/twitter generation person, and a lot of the new player base is and will be. It made total sense to me to get it done.
I did not expect it to be as funny as it is though and really brings back some light heartedness to the game that we can lose while playing it for so long. The facial expressions were the perfect touch of light parody to add to it.
In all of the number crunching that can go on in this game, an element like this to remind us to have fun was a great idea and good vision from the development team.
I am with you 100% on this.
Begrudgingly, I admit I was a naysayer with the SELFIE camera and was very angry that something that narcissistic made it's way into WoW. When I read that an achievement was going to go hand in hand with the camera, I was even angrier. I never made my feelings known on the forums or in general/trade chat; I just internalized the frustration of this "me" generation infiltrating "my" game.
People started to post the screen shots and this thread happened. And I "ate" my words. This camera and some of the images that are captured are hilarious and for sure brought fun (gasp!) back into this game where at times it would seem that fun is often on the back burner.
Kudos to the person who thought of this idea. And kudos to Blizzard for giving us the camera even with all of the forum hate associated with it.
I'm really happy to hear that! To me it definitely adds a little extra fun flavor and means of self expression into the game. :)
