I have so many awesome ideas for wod and wow in general and would really love my ideas to get at least heard. I am an artist. an artistic minded person and would love to add to this video game.

I love it but some things could really use some added excitement or craziness so you could say. players did not expect the gated aspect of everything. don't make this game so fair please. we don't play games to tie people play to win.

I took a look around the careers link and couldn't find the one that Writers fall under. Which category would a writer apply under if they were interested in a career with Blizzard?

It depends on what kind of writing you do. Many of our positions here require strong communication skills and writing skills.

Also for those interested- we have media artist openings in the Community Team - http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/careers/posting.html?id=14000PP and internships for those in college.

Video game companies are among the worst places to work for in the professional industry, especially public corporations like EA, Activision (yes that includes Blizzard), etc. These companies are known for their high stress work environments, high turnover rates, and massive layoffs that occur very frequently, all for the sake of pleasing shareholders and keeping executive profit margins high.

With that said, those I know whom work in the gaming industry are very passionate about what they do (you have to be in order to tolerate all the BS and employee abuse in the workplace). I thought about applying for Blizzard, but after hearing horror stories from insiders, I would rather stick to my current job.

Experiences vary by company and even by position within the company. Blizzard treats us well and I love my co-workers. Is there high stress? Yes. At times. Turn over can happen in the industry and happens too often sadly. That said, I've been at Blizzard slightly over 8 years now and many here have their shields (10 year) and rings (15 year). Some even have their crowns. http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/careers/culture.html Good benefits, good people to work with, something you can be passionate about... Not bad things to have in this industry.
