What are we testing? WTB Direction!

blizz -> wysłany:
So... what are we supposed to be testing this in this PTR build?
blizz -> wysłany:
In all honesty, Bluspacecow is pretty spot-on here. For small updates like 5.4.8, the most helpful testing you can do on PTR is to just play the game like you would on live - nothing specifically targeted. To put this in context, we've already received reports from players that winning a fight in the Brawler's Guild is not granting reputation properly, and that the Arakkoa creatures in Outland display as error cubes.

Catching issues like this is extremely helpful to us, as they're usually an unintended result of a code change somewhere else along the line. We might have caught these on our own, but with a game as large and as vast as World of Warcraft, there's no guarantee. This is why PTR testing is invaluable at times.

For a large content patch (5.4 was a good example) we usually tend to ask players to test specific pieces of content and will sometimes provide a schedule or at least direction, but that's not applicable for every patch.
