Any damages done to a compromised account are usually done in under 5 minutes. Any damages done to a compromised account can normally be mitigated if not completely reversed if reported promptly. Filing a petition is fine, it will be addressed. If a compromiser is on an account for that length of time, they are most likely farming - or spamming, and we have systems that often catch that as well.
