Allow me to explain.
It seems people will go out of their way to act like a total jackass when both anonymity and lack of repurcussions are guaranteed as long as their is a good motivation to do so. We see this on the internet.
Not all people act this way but even those that frequently don't act this way sometimes do for those same reasons.
In reality most people will never rob a merchant at gunpoint or commit murder. For some it's because of personal morals. Others it's because they don't want to face the consequences. Or it can be both.
Now I know that's an extreme example but what about people that do hurtful things to people they don't know (directly in person, unprovoked)? This is rare right in real life? Well on the internet it isn't.
Could the internet prove most of us have a base evil nature? Are the consequences of breaking laws and being a nuisance the reason most of us act the way they do in real life but not on the internet?
